Imperial Raider .. Why?

By Slash Macbain, in X-Wing

In the Thrawn trilogy the clone masters attacked the Old Republic. Then the prequels came out and they had to jump through hoops to make the EU conform to the canon again, with different cloning techniques and stuff like that.

It's implied that the clones were attacking the republic, but never actually stated in the heir to the empire books. Really, there is very little outright contradiction with the prequels in those books. Just incorrect implications.

I remembered that little Victory frigate. If FFG ever did it I think they'd need to redesign the thing along similar lines, it does really look bland.

The Tartan does too. It just... sits there. About the only distinguishing thing about it is the bent nose but that's not enough to get excited about. At least the V-II has an interesting profile, the Tartan does not.

I remember the thicker IPV from the Flight sim games, but I agree it wouldn't have been a good selection here. Too undergunned, no hyperspace capability, and so on.
