Apology Accepted, Captain Needa.

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

Design a Crew Card for (the late) Captain Needa which is both useful and fluffy.

The most ingenious suggestion will get a, er... like.

Edited by FTS Gecko

Don't have one for captian needa but I do have one for Admiral Ozzel.

  • Admiral Ozzel

Imperial Only, Huge Ship Only

If you just failed to hit with an attack discard this card to perform that same attack immediately for free.

Crew 2 points.

So lets say you used single turbolaser to attack and wiffed. You get to do it again but you do not have to spend any more energy tokens for that attack.

Plus the added effect of having the imperial player saying the famous Vader quote.

Captain Needa (unique)

1pt

When an attack fails, discard this card to make another attack.

I suppose the most ingenious suggestion will come with the Imperial Raider.

Captain Needa. Crew. Imperial only. Unique. 2 points.

At (or immediately before) the beginning of the activation phase, you may guess the chosen maneuver of an enemy ship at range 1-2.

If you guess right, before revealing your dial you may choose a new maneuver for this ship.

If you guess wrong, immediately discard this card.

if you allow for this to happen at the beginning, it comboes insanely with Intel agent, but the randomness goes over board and you get a broken version of tactician for two crew slots. But that's only shuttle and VT anyway, so it might work out. If it's before, then it should probably be 1 point only.

A like?

I wanna have a like.

· Captain Needa

Imperial Only

"You may discard this upgrade card to discard a Stealth Device upgrade card on an enemy ship in range 1-3"

Crew 2 points

... well thats garbage ...

· Captain Needa

Imperial Only

"You may discard this upgrade card to prevent any damage by friendly ability effects in range 1-3"

Crew 1 point

... So Vader damages his own shuttle? No, choke Needa instead! Even If he is in a other ship in range 1-3 ....

Yes I'm still kidding...

· Captain Needa

Imperial Only

"You may discard this upgrade card to reroll any number of dice"

Crew 1 point

... Not very creative - but I like this to have an one-time joker for any bad situation. Or just have him discarded by Moff Jerjerrod.

After any friendly ship that does not have Captain Needa as crew member is destroyed bring any other friendly ship up to full hull and shields then discard this card. (5)

Imperial Only, Crew, Unique

You may deny a large ship any actions it may perform or receive for a single round.

3 points

After you perform an attack that does not hit, discard this card to perform an attack. You cannot perform another attack this round.

Similar to Gunner/Luke but allows you to use a secondary weapon, which is balanced by having to discard the card.

Captain Needa [CREW] (Imperial Only, Unique) {1}

You may discard this card to negate the damage effects from the use of the Darth Vader Crew card.

-2 Points

Once per round, if an enemy ship executes a maneuver that causes them to overlap your ship, receive 1 stress token.

This is soooorta like the falcon docking on his ship and him getting stressed about it. Negative point cost since it's a negative ability. Could also pair will with Moff Jerjerrod.

-----------------------------

3Points

If attacking a ship outside your firing arc, you may change one blank to a focus.

------------------------------------

3Points

If attacking a ship at range 1, you may change one blank to a focus.

Captain Needa, 5 Points: Imperial, Hufe Ship only.

Perform one free barrel roll, this can only be done if you perform an attack that did not hit and only if the defending ship would be overlapping your new position.

Or he discards himself instead of another crew card. Gotta take full responsibility!

Good suggestions here. I particularly like the "then discard this card" scenarios!

What other Imperial officers could we potentially see?

Tarkin, Ozzel, Piett?

Zaarin?

Thrawn?

Ozzel, Needa and Tarkin seem to come with the Raider .

Interesting note about Admiral Ozzel and how he came to be on the Executor. In the book Star Wars Allegiance, Mara Jade recommended to Vader to keep an eye on Ozzel after the Admiral was duped by a criminal element to bombard a base where Jade was investigating the same criminals.

Crew, Imperial Only, Huge ship only. 2 points.

"At the start of the Activation phase, select an enemy ship anywhere on the board. At the end of the activation phase, if that ship is in any of this ship's firing arcs, you may perform a free Target Lock action targeting that ship. If the selected ship is not in any of your firing arcs, discard this card and gain a Focus token."

For clarity, a new enemy ship may be selected at the start of each Activation phase and may be anywhere on the board during selection, but must still be within range 1-3 for the Target Lock to be successful. Combos with both Stay on Target and Navigator as well.

Not bad, indeed :D

But did Needa really die?

Not bad, indeed :D

Agreed, that's pretty **** good!

Agreed, that's pretty **** good!

Not too good :P

I like it simple because all those effects you need to keep track of - especially with epic ships

But ... this man has deserved a 'like'

Imperial deck officers are there to be discarded. Thats just how the Imperial Navy works ... all of them disposable.

I'd love to see Thrawn as a crew card.
