This will be a PITA with Wave 5 ships for upcoming tournaments.

Under no circumstances can a player continue his turn while a ship model is removed from its base.

That's odd. I had submitted a much longer post that I can't be arsed to retype that seems to have been eaten.

TLDR (Too Long Didn't Retype) version; **** ships fall off their pegs a lot. I leave them off. What are they going to do about it.

So the decimator which overlaps will need 3 or more pegs

They might suggest you use glue.

I use 4 pegs on mine. It gives an extra attack and defense die for the height advantage.

I've been using the huge ship pegs from the Tantive.

Works great

Yeah, ignore that rule. Alex Davy himself allowed Paul Heaver to remove his YT-1300 model from its pegs temporarily during the final match of Worlds 2014. (If that video is still online, you can see for yourself.) Your local tournament organizer will allow it when necessary.

After some experimentation I found that a small piece of Saran Wrap (no clue what it's called outside of the US, it's a thin plastic film used in the kitchen to cover left-overs) folded over itself a few times and the placed over the hole when inserting the peg gives a pretty snug fit while still allowing the peg to be easily removed for storage.

Yeah, that stuff generally gets a good grab without being permanent. One of the guys here had a wobbly model, so he added peg mounts to the base and turned it into a 3 peg mount that made it more secure.

Cling-film or Cellophane.

I'm a yank too ;-)

It's called Glad Wrap in New Zealand.

Rival company

Who knows? It's the same stuff with a different name.

Four rounds at a tournament today and the Outrider didn't come off its base once.

This is more impressive than even winning a tournament!

I put a little elmers glue on all he posts for my large base ships, seems to keep them all from wobbling.. and I haven't had issue with my 2400s, but my decimators usually go on a huge ship base..
