I have found a very strange and significant differences between the Polish and English versions of the expansion (Polish edition is newer - printed 9 months after English).

So I just want to ask - is there something like an official/unofficial update of SoN rules ??

The official Errata and FAQ 1.4 does not include the differences that I have found here.

Examples of the differences:

The Bard skill Song of Mending Harmony Part:

English: ....each OTHER hero within 3 spaces of you recovers 1 STAMINA.

Polish (translation) :.... each hero within 3 spaces of you recovers 1 STAMINA.

I think don't need to explain how significant the difference is and how it impacts the way bard plays ;)

Demonstration quest:

REWARDS:

English: The heroes receive 25 gold per villager token remaining on the map....

Polish (translation) : If heroes win they receive 25 gold per villager token remaining on the map....

I am more than surprise here and that is why I am asking about some official changes or rules modifications :/

I am not aware of these changes. As I understand it, what you have listed as the "english" rules are the current rules.

Yes - "English" represents the rules that I have copied from the english edition of the SoN expansion.

It is possible that when translating from English to Polish there were mistakes or mistranslated? It happens alot when adapting one language to another.

English: ...Perform an attack that targets one of the same monsters with a different Melee weapon with 1 hand icon.

Polish (my translation): ......Perform an attack that targets the same monster (or monsters) with a different Melee weapon with 1 hand icon.

CIVIL WAR - ENCOUNTER 1

TAKING SIDES :

English: As an action , while adjacent to a guard, a hero may test....

Polish (my translation): While adjacent to a guard, a hero may test....

This is getting ridiculous :/

None of these Polish rules are official changes as far as I'm aware. Seems like they're translation errors on the Polish end.

Most of these are probably a result of the Polish translators not being as intimately familiar with the game as we players are - so they weren't aware that the very slight text change carries such a large mechanical meaning.

That last one about Civil War is just really unfortunate...

I guess polish publisher Galakta doesn't treat as serious as customers. We have just begun the campaign and found those translation mistakes, I cannot think what we may encounter later on. Now I think the only reason I bought polish edition is flavor text...and starting to think was it worth it...

Nathan's answer regarding printing mistakes:


"I have looked over all of your questions and the English versions are correct and up to date. Those changes must have accidentally happened in translation.


With the inclusion of any errata, the english rules should always be up to date.
