double scum firesprays?

By Zanos, in X-Wing Squad Lists

hey guys, I've been working on a kath and boba squad, something like

boba, vi, engine, heavy laser, inertial dampeners, recon specialist

kath with predator and engine

how would you fly this/ change it to make it better? I'm having trouble dealing with rebel four ship builds, I'm not sure exactly how to go about fighting them with normal squads, let alone firesprays, but I really want to make them work. thanks for your help!

I feel that Fett's ability really don't work well together with HLC, his ability activates at R1 and HLC is R2-R3.

I would go with something like:

Boba Fett (Scum) (39)
Lone Wolf (2)
Recon Specialist (3)
Inertial Dampeners (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38)
Push the Limit (3)
Gunner (5)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Total: 99

I've actually thought about that a bit. It's a lot of points, but it would make Boba good in all areas. People will know that Boba is a beast at close range, so they want to stay at a distance. So....what do you do when he's got an HLC and gets bonuses for being close? Also, just because he gets bonuses for someone staying in range doesn't mean he has to fire at them. What I mean is, if someone is trying to jam you up while their damaged ship escapes, then you don't really care as long as you have them in arc. You get the bonus for your HLC shot.

Yeah I was thinking the same. But you will still always try to get in R1, which might be counterproductive. But I see your points.

Another thing that could be done with Fett's EPT is go PtL or even Outmaneuver (Lone Wolf might be overkill)

I've gone 19-5 so far with this scum firespray list on vassal.

Boba + HLC + Predator

Kath + HLC + Predator + Recon

If you switch Lone Wolf out for VI on Fett you'll be moving after Whisper and Soontir. That leaves you with two points for either an initiative bid or a Seismic charge on Fett. Since he moves at PS 10 you almost always know if it's a good time to use the bomb.

hmm, hadn't considered ptl on kath. would certainly solve a couple problems with her. vi seismic fett will definitely help with the incoming surge of autofels for sure. any tips on how you would fly this against four ship builds?

The only thing that concerns me about flying dual Scum Firesprays is that it looks like I'm finally going to have to use ordinance, something that's not been really worthwhile up until now!

I hope I'm not the only person who, after reading the thread title said;

"Can't get enough of that Doublemint Scum."

.... I should leave.

From personal experience flying a TON of dual firespray, PTL isn't worth it very often on firesprays. You don't have many options to clear the stress, and it also makes you very predictble.

It CAN be nice if you have recon specialist, as you can get two focus and an evade to turtle up on defense. However if you want it for offense, predator and a focus are MUCH better.

But with Fett's ability and engine it can be very useful. Need that R1
