You are allowed to fly through or even land on asteroids. It's not a very good idea, though.
Asteroids are obstacles. The rules for obstacles are on page 20 of the rulebook.

You can but don't want to, going through one means you may take damage and landing on one stops you attacking.
It can be tricky at first when your new and unfamiliar with movement, keep practicing and you'll learn how not to crash.
