Eaden, Hobbie & Dutch

By darkflop, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm currently experimenting with the following list, and it's quite fun to play, using my all-time favourite ships plus the new kid on the block!

- Eaden Vrill - Heavy laser cannon, Outrider, Intelligence agent - 45

- "Hobbie" Klivan - R3-A2 - 27

- "Dutch" Vander - Ion cannon turret - 28

100 pts

Eaden does his thing, flying around trying to keep out of R1, with the Intel agent to have an idea of where the closest ship might end up. Hobbie focuses, then gets a free TL from Dutch, stresses the target with R3, spends the TL to lose the stress he gained. Eaden throws 5 dice at the same target (ideally with a focus or TL). Repeat. This is theoretical ideal situation of course but I think generally achievable.

Any loss of ship will not break the squad, they still benefit from each other no matter what. High PS enemies in the endgame might be an issue though...

What do you guys think?

If you put Outrider on a YT-2400 you can't perform primary weapon attacks anymore. Eaden's ability is triggered only by primary weapon attacks. The two are mutually exclusive, sorry.

Oops! I massively misread the card there! Thanks for pointing it out!

Well then I can adapt easily by swapping Eaden's options with an Engine Upgrade and a Gunner. That leaves me with 4 points. Maybe torpedoes on Dutch and/or Hobbie?

Toss dutch r7-t1. Basically was built for him lol.

Flipping through my upgrades right now and coming to the same conclusion!

R7-T1 it is then :)

So let's recap the new version that actually works this time!

- Eaden Vrill - Gunner, Engine upgrade - 41

- "Hobbie" Klivian - R3-A2 - 27

- "Dutch" Vander - R7-T1, Ion cannon turret - 31

Total 99 pts

Obvious drop in firepower from my initial (wrong) idea, but I get the EU instead and R7 to be super-mobile and try to get out of arc.
