They added the Armada Dice to the official Star Wars dice app.

By rowdyoctopus, in Star Wars: Armada

However I have just realized there is not a way in app to determine every side of the die easily. Using deduction and playing around with them, I was able to figure out all the sides of all the dice. I believe this was previously unknown?

Black: 4 hits, 2 blank, 2 hit+crit

Blue: 4 hits, 2 crit, 2 accuracy

Red (previously known): 2 blank, 1 accuracy, 2 hit, 2 crit, 1 double hit

The sides of the dice were mentioned in the Team Covenant Gencon video. But, great catch.

Was there more than one of those? Because I swear I watched it multiple times and at the moment I do not remember them specifically outlining how many times each result occurs on each die. Its possible they did and now I am forgetting.

Also, it is worth pointing out that the black die does not match digital images used in promotion of the game. Prime example is the article announcing the stand alone dice pack. It shows black dice with a single crit side, which isn't on the final dice. Of course its just a digital mock up. I'm in no way trying to say the dice pack will have different/illegal/bad dice.

Looks like Blues are the most reliable, while black has the highest potential payoff, reds being a mix between the two

I actually think Reds might be the best Die out there (longest range, has the best chance of getting a crit OR double damage, and has the accuracy result but only 1 of them)

Just out of interest, does the dice app also have Imperial Assault dice? That might make it worth a purchase for me :)

Yes, I just checked for you. :D

Thanks! :)

It added Armada and Imperial Assault today in an update. It has the dice for all their Star Wars games. X-Wing, their RPG, and now Armada and Imperial Assault. It also has your general D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, D100 (sides for 10, 20, 30, etc.).

FFG, you guys rock! Thankyou for this!

But they also have the highest chance of missing with 3 non damage side, but I agree they are probably the best overall

Thanks for the info!!!

If these numbers are correct then:

Red Dice have a 0.625 chance of rolling at least a hit (crits and double hits are included)

Blue Dice have a 0.75 chance of rolling at least a hit

Black Dice have a 0.75 chance of rolling at least a hit

More interestingly:

Red Dice roll an average of 0.75 hits+ (hit or crit) per dice roll

Blue Dice roll an average of 0.75 hits+ per dice roll

Black Dice roll an average of 1 hits+ per dice roll.

The double hit on a Red bumps up the average hit from 0.625 to 0.75, and the combined hit+crit of a black dice gives it an average of a single hit (or crit) per dice roll.

Since this is statistics I feel it important to point out Black Dice averaging 1 hit per dice roll doesn't mean it always rolls a hit, it means if you roll 8 Black Dice and they each landed on different sides of the die you would score 8 hits (2 of which are crits).

So Black Dice are clearly the most likely to cause damage, while blues are the most likely to negate enemy defense tokens, and Reds obviously have range.

Thorough analysis, thank you! Makes you realize how well thought out the design process was.

Well 1 accuracy here or there is a good thing to allow more damage to go through, but it becomes an issue when you start rolling to many accuracy results and not enough damage results (such as on the blue dice potentially)

Remember, you won't be rolling only one color unless that is all you have. Its not like you have to choose between Blue or Black. If you have both, and the target is in range of both, you roll both.

Though what dice you have and how comfortable you are with their effectiveness could affect your positioning tactics.

There's a title for the victory that helps with that. "Warlord" lets you turn an accuracy to a hit each round.

thats not entirely true we will be choosing between the different dice in a way, for example do you want the victory 1 with black and red dice or the victory 2 with blue and red dice so we will have to select the ships, and the dice that they have will play a major role in squad building

I've got doubts about the effectiveness of the Vic 1 now. Will red+black give enough accuracy results to score meaningful damage on those pesky small rebel ships?

according to the gen con demo many tokens lkkd the evade token are ineffective at range 1 meaning they don't do anything so the accuracy result is almost useless for black dice

It may serve some purpose in letting you mitigate that Redirect token on the CR-90.

Though a CR-90 at close range to any SD is really trying to get vaped.

I mentioned it in my the other topic, it is exactly what happened in my GenCon demo. I was playing the Victory I and my opponent ran his CR90 straight up to range 1, front arc. I unloaded and destroyed the thing in a single attack. Now I rolled like 8 hits between those 6 dice, but the thing was toast.

Maybe the CR90 just wants to cuddle?
