I think it is great to play as stereotypical character classes, but it would have been nice to start out as the original team of Luke and Company. I just hope that we get a chance to use them someday as this game gains popularity.

Personally, I disagree. They have their story, this is a chance to live out a new story. I hope FFG develops more original characters as the game progresses, but I'm perfectly happy having "Luke and Company" as Deployment cards.

I like them in the game but as deployment cards in a campaign I need to see more before I get over my first impression.

So far I took down Han in a heartbeat and that seemed lame becasue well it's Han Solo afterall.

Making the heroes more capable feels odd.

Maybe a hero pack of classic characters would fit the bill.

I can live with a hero pack of classic characters. I also understand the whole live out your own story. That is what makes these games great, A feast for the imagination.

I think is indeed the intention. There are already mini's announced for characters that have tokens in the game (Han, General Weiss) so it is my understanding that just about everyone will have a figure at some point.

I would love to see a way to make our own characters. I could make a few of my swtor characters, my edge of the empire mechanic, and anything else I wanted if they release rules to make your own heroes.
