I'm not sure how this would resolve, would it be two "hits" and then if the defender doesn't have two or more evades the flechette text takes effect?
flechette cannons with accuracy corrector?
Yes. Flechette Cannon works almost like Ion Cannon. First you determine if the attack hits (one or more uncancelled hit or crit results), then you deal 1 damange, and possibly a stress token, and then all dice are cancelled. This all happens in step 6 Compare Results.
Also note that there is a debate wether AC happens in step 3 Modify Attack Dice or step 6 Compare Results. it has no real affact on this, but it can affect wether the Defender chooses to use Focus or Evade Tokens in step 5 Modify Defence Dice.

It really shouldn't even affect that. If the attacker has less than two hits, you can trust that they'll change it to two. Whether that happens before the defender rolls, or the defender knows for certain that it will happen after, the result is the same.

Yeah, the rulebook states that any ability that cancels dice takes place in Step 6, but that was probably written with only Ion Cannon Turrets in mind; I'm hoping for an FAQ on Accuracy Corrector just before Wave VI hits stores, kind of like when Wave V was imminent and they clarified Stay On Target + Navigator.

It certainly was not.
Ion text triggers after the weapon hit. Which is after the compare results step of the combat sequence.
Abilities that cancel dice trigger at the beginning of the compare results step. Ion weapons do not trigger at that time.

And I think that it actually makes sense that abilities that cancel dice comes after all dice have been rolled and modified.
Edited by StephenEsvenExactly. And the rulebook was probably written before any ion weapons existed.

Nah, ICT was Wave I, which is where I got myself confused. But yes, it would make sense to have changed the results before you compare them!

Determining whether the weapon hits occurs DURING the compare results step.
6. Compare Results
During this step, players compare their dice results to determine whether the defender was HIT.
Which indicates that the ion effect triggers and occurs at the end of the compare results step.
Doesn't really change the point you were making, that the ion effect doesn't happen at the beginning of the step, but it seemed important to point out.
Ok that all makes sense thanks!
