Aaron Paul as Han Solo?

Came across this today. Nothing is solid yet.

How would everyone feel if this were the case? Personally, I don't think he looks much like Han. It's hard to picture Aaron Paul not yelling certain profanities at the end of his sentences. I've only seen him as Jesse Pinkman, where he was the more explosive, emotional character, and I look at Han as more of a cool-headed suave scoundrel (of course) so I don't know how those would match up. That's not to say Paul can't act differently for this role, of course.
But if he mentions running spice...

Discuss?

Yeah I can't see it!

So what else has this dude been in? And is it just me, or has he got more forehead than face?

He plays one of the main characters in Breaking Bad. He's actually a fantastic actor. I have been blown away by his performance many times just from that show.

With that said, I can NOT see him as a young Han Solo. In fact I don't really WANT to see a young Han Solo at all. His character is perfect in the original trilogy (except for Return of the Jedi where he's basically reduced to doing slapstick). I don't need an origin story for him. Oh well... it'll probably happen.

You see the story with Han racing Swoops before joining the Empire is still canon... Its just this time instead of scaring his chin he fracks his whole face...

Paul's character was actually supposed to die in the first season, but his acting was so good that Vince Gilligan kept him around and made him a much more important character.

I haven't seen the show. Has he been in anything else?

No idea. IMDB.com would be where to find that answer.

He was great in breaking bad, terrible in need for speed.

He can do underdog but can he do charming rogue? I'm iffy on the whole "let's give every character their own movie" thing, some times revealing a characters past destroys their appeal rather than enhancing it.

He's a terrific actor, but he'd really have to sell it for Han, just because of the visual difference. Yeah, he does ave a lot of forehead. As in : live action Dragonball Z amount of forehead.

Nathan Fillion already played Han in Firefly. I'm afraid he's gotten a bit too old and beefy for the role now.

James Franco might pull it off, but he's getting too long in the tooth and, frankly, too weird.

I thought Josh Helman would be a good person because he looks a lot like Harrison. Got that wonky smile.

Nathan could get in shape, look at jackman they keep pulling him back to play wolverine and at 50ish he looks good.

Looks are less important than the the personality, superman returns shows that well he looks like reaves but just does not have the same charm.

Aaron Paul as Luke would be a much more fitting role.

Agreed with the latter, but playing a character who could be in his 30s or 40s (I don't really know Wolverine all that well) when you're in your later 40s is not the same as playing a character who's got to be in his early 20s (presumably when the spin-off would be set?) when you're twice that.

Now, maybe it's a false assumption that the Han Solo spin off would be before ANH. I certainly hope that's when it's set, though not when Han Solo is a child. That would blow.

He's a fantastic actor, but I don't see him as Han. He's just a bit too small and skinny really. Maybe if he bulked up, but he just doesn't look at all like a young Harrison Ford. It would be harder to pretend that he is Han Solo.
