thinking of running 2 decimators, prob try speed round the table and slowly eat way at enemies
What are 2 decimators like for tournaments?
I'd imagine they're about as scary as the twin YT-1300 lists were back in the day. Key difference is that Agility v Hull strength.
theyre slightly different. a little more oomph imo. =)
Prepare to be critted and critted often.
My 8 z95's won't mind.
would it be fun to fly?
I'd rather face two than face one + friends in a timed tourney game. Much easier decision when it comes to focus-firing your target. You just pick a Decimator and hound it until it's dead, as opposed to having to decide whether to go after the Decimator or go after its buddies (who might be able to scramble away from you before you can lock down their points, and prevent you from having enough time left over to kill the Decimator)
However, if the twin Deci list had some slipperiness built into it, it might work well. Like the twin Falcon points-tanking lists do.
Yeah, the worst part about double deci lists is crits. You can't take a Black DTF to syphon them off.
I'd say they aren't as good as dual falcons, as their higher point cost means less upgrades you can take between them.
With two it takes away any benifit that they need to survive a fight....everyone is right on the point about crits.....because if you field two decimators thats alot of point dumped in just placing two on the table without any mods....and you are left with verry little to no options in providing any advantage in the survival of your two decimators.

The named Decimators have the exact same point cost as the named Falcons.
I have played with double Decimators and you need Engine Upgrade on both.
For 100 points, I take:
Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Predator (3)
either Vader or Mara Jade or Rebel Captive (3)
Patrol Leader (40)
Engine Upgrade (4)
You really need to stay out of the enemy firing arcs for this to work, so you really have to keep hitting the Engine Upgrade to get you out of the enemy firing arcs.
The Decimator seemed to me to be the YT-1300, but moreso.
You had the record for highest HP and the lowest agility (Tied?) We'll take both of those from you.
You like to fly in circles due to having a turret? We don't even have a Koiogran!
You can do crazy combos using two crew? We have 3!
Et c. Et c.
My funny double decimator list:
Patrol leader, gunner, intelligence agent, engine upgrade
Patrol leader, gunner, intelligence agent, engine upgrade
100pts
Not that good but fun to play.
Indeed.
With no evade and hull-heavy defence, critical hits are annoying.
With only two three-dice attacks, you have limited damage potential.
You need to use modifications and crew (since neither can be disabled by criticals!) to balance these out. Gunners are a good start, are elite talents like ruthlessness or expose.
And engine upgrades are nice.
I'm not sure if Kenkirk/Isard will provide enough damage resistance to justify using them. Certainly Chiraneau packs a ridiculous whallop, and is the 'big stick' of a decimator squad. With expose and experimental interface, you've got a target locked, might-as-well-be-focused, 4 dice turret. You could take a gunner, but the odds of missing with that have to be fairly low... A tactician or mercenary copilot are probably a better buy.

That's a nice list, actually. With Intelligence Agent and Engine Upgrade, you can compensate for the low pilot skill, and you can be fairly confident you'll get to shoot back.
I killed 2 Rino's with the side kicks and didnt lose one but if he had engine upgrade it would have made the game more intresting
