Reinforce and Deployment Question

By Stone37, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Before the start of a new round, the Empire can spend threat points to Deploy and Reinforce their forces. First question,

What can the Imperial player deploy? Are defeated cards allowed to be deployed?

Can the Imperial Player Reinforce a group that has no members left in it? If all the Storm Troopers in a deployment are defeated, can the Imperial player still reinforce that group?

Thank you for helping me look into these questions. Please cite source (page number) of your answers for these rule questions if you can.

Defeated cards go back in imperial hand, or open group. spend threat to get them back, so limited a bit but still able to get troops on the board

So you can't reinforce a defeated card, but you can buy it back for its full cost?

That's how we've been playing it :)

from rules!

When an initial or reserved group is defeated, except for

unique figures, the Deployment card is returned to the

Imperial player’s hand and can be optionally deployed during

the Status Phase.

The Imperial player may deploy any number of groups during

each optional deployment.

The only defeated figure an Imperial player cannot redeploy with Threat are Unique figures (those with a little square before their name).

The reference guide cleared this up for me, thank you! I really need to read over it, as the intro book does not fully explain all the rules. I didn't realize I could deploy previously defeated cards!!! E-web part two is happening tonight during Aftermath! lol

"During a campaign, when the last Imperial figure in a nonunique

group is defeated, the Deployment card is returned to

the Imperial player’s hand and can be optionally deployed later

in the mission."

I'd say this applies if the card is from an initial, reserved, or open group.

"A figure can be reinforced only if at least one other figure from

its group is on the map."

So you can't reinforce without having the card deployed already.

Yikes: Soon beat me too it but I'll keep this here as it's a little more inclusive.
