Adding all other worlds

By HëllRÆZØR, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

When I played my first Innsmouth game (no other boards) , I had an interesting idea:

I placed the Dunwich and the Kingsport board below the Innsmouth board so that the four other worlds were visible, and used all gates and gate cards from Dunwich and Kingsport. It really worked well, there was a gate to Lost Carcosa and one to the Underworld, and I even drew a specific encounter for each of them in the 3 investigator game.

If you know some problems that can occur (cards refering to expansion locations, rifts etc.), I'd like to hear about them. I'm especially interested wether you think they might be a problem, or wether you know it for sure.

Brilliant idea. Hadn't even remotely thought of that.

Even if there are any other world encounter cards that refer you back to a kingsport and/or Dunwich location (I can't think of any at the moment), one oculd simply change that to either any location you want or, better yet, lost in time and space. But afaik, these cards would have to be ridiculously rare - I don't know of any off the top of my head.

I've done that from the beginning and there's never been a problem. I always have all the boards out out and tell players they can go visit if they want. Nobody ever has even when I put clues on the Dunwich board without use the Dunwich Mythos.

My newspaper used to call different boards and expansions into play during the game. I loved it but several of my players didn't, so I quit doing it.
