Im not usually one to fan boy BUT

By Polar43, in X-Wing

Going to sound like a total fanboy but i feel I gotta relate my current experience with lasertouch.

Just before xmas i decided to take the plunge and purchase a bag. It took me ages to decide between various companies but after hitting up Craig at Lasertouch and actually getting a response my mind was made up(fact that it was aussie was icing on the cake)

When i Contacted Lasertouch I was interested in a load of their trays but also needed a custom one too boot as some of their IMP trays didn't suit what I was after and I was never going to own a firespray(yeah i know blasphemy). Craig got back to me and asked what exactly I wanted and after some conversation he sent me a design which suited all my current and future needs.

I happily purchased the bag and sat waiting for my prize possession however I had a delivery report saying it had been delivered in SA(south australia) to which I threated. I contacted Craig to let him know and he got onto the issue immediately and found out that the delivery had been sent accidentally to the wrong address. This was with only a few days spare to Xmas and as I had a few games lines up on boxing day and the days after I started to stress. HOWEVER the guys at lasertouch re cut me a new custom tray and resent it express and it was literally with me the very next day!!! so I ended up with my bag before Xmas which in itself was a massive bonus

Now to the actual quality of the bag

Ive used only 2 forms of miniature storage companies prior (more if you count my own custom stuff ;0) ) and I have to say the bag and its trays were well above the quality of the other big brand named storage units i had used previously., The foam fits the ships perfectly, no forcing anything and no issues getting ships out. Its all sturdy and each level keeps the ships protected regardless of weight from trays above. Unlike other trays ive used there was no separation from base to tray

So yeah I do sound like a fan boy but there is a massive reason for that and to anyone in the market for a bag, you should seriously contemplate these guys. They are a no bullsh*t company who are happy to work with you to get what YOU want out of their products

Happy to post a load of pics too if any of you are interested

Please do.

Pictures????

Wish someone would get back to me about my enquiry. I posted pre-xmas to their email addy (from their web site) and still have nothing, no reply, zip, nada.

Not impressed. And I am wanting enough space to store what is in my sig + upcoming releases.

Decided to hold onto my money for now. When the time comes, I guess I'll give it to Battlefoam (I really really don't want to).

Cheers

Interesting. My collection grow bigger and bigger. I will soon need 2 of these bags. I might get them in 2-3 months (because its quite expensive).

Really interested in this. Need more pics. Do they ship international?

Really want more info and options. Are the bags only medium, etc..?

Looks awesome. Love that the fitting are for multiple ships.

What's wrong with battlefoam? (I don't mean to start an argument here, I'm just about to start doing my own research into storage solutions and input is welcome.)

Personal reasons for one. I actually own a few BF cases/trays for other games. The quality is fine. The price - not so much. Mind you - I have to get the items shipped across the pond ontop of converting from US -> AUS dollars. In the end, it just isn't viable (not while there are other 'local' options). Also, with the latest dive in the value of the AUS dollar it's just been made even more expensive.

So personal reasons, and money. At no point did I question the quality of BF stuff. I just want that known.

Cheers

I have both, battle foam and laser touch. Battle foam wave 1-4 could not hold all my collection, nor does it hold templates, dials, or ship base tokens. Nice bag but poor storage/layout.

Laser touch - Awsome - I was able to put ALL my current ships in the bags along with all dials and ship templates. I have two bags rebel/imp.

They've taken issue with other laser-cut foam companies and tried to sue.

I got a battle foam 720 and it holds ALL my collection including everything except the cards which i keep in a separate binder. and i have pretty much 6-12 of EVERY ship. Two Transports one tantive. if you use the custom option they are much more space efficient. some ships can be double and triple stacked stacked. yeah i was looking at the laser touch stuff back before i ordered my 720 bag back in July. asked a couple of questions and NEVER got a response back.. however battlefoam was very quick to answer my questions. So it was a no brainer. they also have a military discount. but I didn't need it as the 4th of July sale discount was greater. Also shipping on laser touch would be MUCH MUCH higher. Laser touch looks great and the custom configuration software is great and fun to use however i just don't like getting Null responses when i ask questions... i also like how the battlefoam pack plus bag zips to the 720 for future growth potential or just a smaller storage option for when you just want to carry a few lists to a tournament.

How deep is a Lasertouch tray?
