Stats for a Mandalorian Mythosaur Axe?

By Desslok, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Has anyone ever banged out stats for the Mandalorian Mythosaur Axe ? Oh sure it's in the WotC KotOR sourcebook, but since I never played, I have no idea what they had for baseline difficulty and damage and whatnot (1D12, if anyone's curious).

I'm going to put one as an artifact in an upcoming game - and my "Ooooh! Weapon!" marauder will almost certainly want it. So I thought I'd have something vaguely stats like on hand for her.

Maybe use stats similar to a Vibro-ax, but maybe with increased damage and no Pierce, perhaps starting with Superior. Maybe not Sunder or Vicious, but perhaps Defensive or something

Yeah, I'd just go with a Superior vibro-ax and call it good. Reduce hardpoints as appropriate, and reskin as "Mythosaur Axe."

Thats really generous, given its a unpowered ceremonial club/staff.

Use stats of a Gaffi-stick or staff for the original, or vibro-axe for a "modern".

That's kind of what I figured - call it a sexy vibro axe, pull out the hardpoints and we're all good. I just didn't want to reinvent the wheel when someone else had already done the work.

And I could totally see it having Superior - yes, it's just a stick with a big sharp bit on the end, but it seems like a bad-ass ceremonial Right Hand of God sort of weapon. Not something that any old pleb is going to knock out in their basement.

This is a good point. Which version are you looking for? If the unpowered version made from mythosaur I would go with the vibro-ax stats minus the Pierce quality. If it is the remake using modern metals I would add the Cortosis and Stun 3 qualities to the vibro-ax stats. In both cases I would remove all HPs.

I would probably treat it as an axe or Gaffi stick, I don't consider the basic thing sangifcantly different from an primative axe type weapon from any other culture.

Unless it was a "modern" version, e.g. a powered weapon of some description in which case I would give it the vibroaxe treatment.
