Surgery to get the wings down correctly. I was very nervous ($$) but I went slowly.

All parts were soaked in Tamiya Laquer Thinner and scrubbed. Then I proceeded to reassemble the shuttle with the wing root tabs cut so the wings lower all the way down. Notice the grey primer area. I dropped the model and the plastic is very fragile and had to piece it together and use putty to smooth it out. I am also planning an Impetial Cog decal.

Tatooine Lambda ready for service in the Imperial Fleet!

Nicely done! Also, I appreciate the pics, since I'm planning to do a full-repaint if I end up with a second Lambda.

You did great!

:)

Looks great, I like your color pallet here. I have 5 lambdas, and 2 have decals like the imp cog on your top wing, but 2 are untouched and I need to do something with them. One is painted like a school bus.. lol

This color scheme idea came from a WWII Bf-109f flown in Africa by Hans-Joachim Marseille of JG27

can you give some more detail in how you disassembled it? it looks like the top wing slotted out, but what about the rest?

I have three with only one out of the box right now... (the wing issue has slowed me down on working on them) these are awesome pics for inspiring surgery... :D

I just noticed your base.. What did you use to change up the peg for that, I like the look of the single piece of plastic rod there. but wondering how you attached it.. is that a magnet at the bottom??

I believe this is the link to where I learned how to fix the wing issue.

The clear plastic rod is from Litco ( for my wings of war collection). My original plan was to have it on a gimbal mount but she was to heavy for it. So the plastic rod now just fits into the bottom of the shuttle and the gimbal just happens to fit in the base perfectly.

Which era do you play Wings of War/Glory.. I played WWI, and have a few WWII planes from the pacific theatre..

Also, do you know about the Aerodrome?

I have been thinking to gimbal the shuttle, but wasn't sure... I wonder if I should just get some 3 or 4 inch rods from litco..

Edited by oneway

WWII is my favorite era of dogfighting. I wish it was more like xwing with the maneuver dials. There is another post here that has some magnetic mounting options. I'm going to look further into it.
