I think that the berserk option is too strong.

You could also say:

- You may choose to go berserk in battle. If you do so, you may add 2 to your dice roll for the battle. However, if you lose, you lose 2 lives instead of one.

I'd agree with V, though I think there used to be a character exactly like that in a previous edition. Was it called the "Berserker"... or "Dervish" or something? Anyone remember for certain? Our resident Talisman scholar, Jon New, might know.

That's the Barbariangui%C3%B1o.gif

The text i posted on my previous post is exact the same as the text on the barbarian cardcool.gif

3rd Edition Barbarian, as opposed to 2nd Edition, and similar to the Dragon Slayer in 2nd Edition.

That would be fine and then allow him using spells gran_risa.gif

yeah why notgran_risa.gif

If a Troll can cast a spell, then a Orc can do that toogran_risa.gifgran_risa.gif

I applaud Brogger's consideration of balancing a character and keeping it from becoming overpowering with special advantages and no sacrifices. And the Troll is not an accurate comparison. In retrospect... now that I think about it more... the failure possibility for using two dice TOTAL does need a balance with some type of autofailure, not a penalty or extra lose for normal failiure. It is too potent (even for sacrificing spells) as it stands. But rolling doubles is still too low a probability (about 2.79%)... same problem with the 3E Barbarian.

But thankfully, the Orc's not getting an automatic weapon as well, like the barbarian. I would suggest changing it to read "but if you roll a 1 on either die, you lose." That's a flat 16.7% chance... or for those miscalulating the dice interactively, its still only about 19.5%.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I have now reconsidered the orcs abilities and think I got it now - also for being more balancing.

cheers

That seems better! And the potential little goblin band is a nice addition... although...

What happens if a goblin "bearer" gets killed? Or can it even be killed? Or could he sacrife a goblin in place of losing a life? None of this is really necessary, I'm just thinking outloud... like an orc.

You have made a nice character card of the Orc !

Also the last ability is funny.

If you can find a lot of goblins, then your strength will grow a lot !

But they can carry also a lot of objects for you.gran_risa.gif You really need the dungeon expansion for thisgran_risa.gif

Can you take the Goblin King also as a follower? Goblin King adds 2 to to your strength??partido_risa.gif

Thank you happy.gif

Goblins will be added like other followers and the carrying ability is like the mule just only 1 object.

Maybe I should specify that all enemy cards that have the word goblin can be taken. And yes he will be very

good in Dungeon - if he's not running into too many craft creatures.

Could be fun with the Goblin King gui%C3%B1o.gif but think I keep he's abilities more simple. Don't want to pack too munc

into one ability.

I think you are right about that.

I think that most people will understand that you can take a Goblin King with yougui%C3%B1o.gif But it's still funnygran_risa.gif

This is a pretty funny character, and would be great if there were a lot of goblins pulled in the Dungeon by him =D So unlike the Ghoul, Minstrel, etc, he can keep his Goblin army?

Now, I've always thought that doubles is a 1 in 6 chance? I'm a parlour statician at best, so I could easily be wrong. 36 possible combos, 6 double combos, 1 in 6, ~17%?

wow, really a nice charachter! probably i will put it on the field, thank you!

in your opininion, does it lose a goblin-follower if defeated in combat, or not?

Any one set of doubles is a 1 in 36 chance; 1 / 36 = 2.78%. Any doubles at all is a 1 in 6 chance; 1 / 6 = 16.7%
