NOVA Squadron Radio – Episode 15 “The OutRyder Cup!”
We will be pulling the name for the winner of the F.A.T. Mat in next week's show.
Just a reminder, we will back with the full cast in two weeks!
Great show, guys.
And not one mangled Star Wars name!
LOL! We should star keeping a count on that one!
Great listen. I've been flying, with great success, a list that you might want to consider at the next OutRyder Cup as a general list. It doesn't really have any overwhelming strenghts, BUT it performs well against any list. I built this list to be able to sponge hits while hopefully being able to take a ship or two down before losing one. Since it has a lot of hull / shield to chew through, I've entitled this list:
The Incredible Bulk!
Omnicron Group Pilot - Shuttle (21)
Darth Vader - Crew (3)
Bounty Hunter - Firespray (33)
Dark Curse - TIE Fighter(16)
Sigma Squadron Pilot - TIE Phantom (25)
Stygium Particle Accelerator (2)
I like that, its a good general "put forward" list! Thanks!
I am curious to what OutRyder Cup II will look like to be honest, as by then Scum will be a thing and we will have to account for that.
This was one of my favorite casts guys. I really enjoy going to and playing in tournaments, but it's lacks some things for me. The team aspect of this event is something that I think is very cool, and feels like the missing piece I'm looking for. I wonder if you could add a furball type round to this. Sense you have teams of 6 maybe do 3 on 3. Just a thought. Keep up the good work guys!
You could add or remove rounds as needed. You could add a round with 6 games with 3 players (1 from each team) that's a fur ball match. Time and space are really the requirements. The timeline we ended up with for this event was roughly:
11:00AM store opens and arrive and setup
12:30PM Epic Round start
3:30PM Epic Round end, lunch break start
5:00 Round 2 start
6:15 Round 2 end
6:45 Round 3 start
8:00 Round 3 end
8:00 Awards
It made for a long, but fun, day. The Epic round took up most of the day, but it gave us all an opportunity to play Epic which was pretty cool. There is nothing preventing a bigger or longer event, but it could span 2 days.
We have talked about potentially adding other nearby groups, but doing that extends the time and space requirements. It also can complicate match ups. We wanted to make sure that each team gets an equal number of matches against the other teams. Anything is doable, but some concessions may need to be made.
Thanks Mr. Froggies! I really do like the idea of the Furball addition to the event. That really could be a lot of fun.
Edited by EvilEd209And mrfroggies, I will say that the mechanism you introduced for the Galactic Cup where each person brings 2 lists and sets a dial has been completely used for all of our Pittsburgh league matches. It was part of the inspiration for how and why we did the pairings the way we did for the OutRyder Cup, so thank you for that idea.

Thanks, I'm glad that you are getting good use out of it. Sense you mention the Galactic Cup, I will say that I'm in beginning stages of working on Galactic Cup 2.
