Parts/pieces/kit bashes Where to find?

By Cev Lost, in X-Wing

Anyone have some good sights for roughly scale equipment for X-wing miniatures?

Good examples would include different dishes for the Yt's or perhaps different cannon set ups even the concept of creating your own satellites or uglies.

would prefer places where I don't have to dig up a whole model for just one piece but.. within reason.. am willing to do so.

you didn't say where you are CEV.

But in the UK. Check out...GZG, ground zero games, The have building detail sets that can be re-purposed.

None country specific.

Any 1/700 "modern" naval warship detailing set. Using one of these to detail a bandai gundam base jabber kit. Along with some plastic "jewelry" designed for kids to make stuff with. Diamond shapes etc.

Brass Barrels, designed to replaced existing barrels on AFV kits. I've used 1/35 scale 20mm cannons as main guns on 1/100 scale SF tanks. I was thinking about replacing e wing cannon with some of these. Get them at any half way decent model shop.

Etch brass detailing sets. Available for AFV ships aircraft etc

GHQ, an american company with UK suppliers do 1/285 scale aircaft stores for their modern aircraft. Includes things like sparrow missiles, iron bombs etc. They do Western and Warsaw Pact type weapons. Again they could be re-purposed.

Also hit the local model shop if you have one and dig thru their plasticard range. Loads of sheets and shapes (girders etc)

That list is just of top of my head. But maybe it will give you some ideas.

Cheers

Andy

I used to have a couple websites marked that sold bits, but I can only remember http://www.thewarstore.com/

Haven't needed bits since I stopped 40k-ing, so I haven't been back in a dogs age.
