Star Wars Rebels Discussion [Possible Spoilers]

By Crabbok, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I know there was an old Rebels thread, but it was also in the main section, so I figure this better belongs in the Off Topic area.

So Rebels is officially back as of last night! Did you watch it? I thought it was a very well done episode. Disney has alot of nerve boasting this show as a "kids" show, since it comes on at 9 pm.

I loved last night's episode. Of course I may be a little biased since I am a huge Yoda fan and having Frank Oz return as the voice was just awesome, no offense to Tom Kane of course.

Oh crap... I missed it. Oh well, I know they replay the episode during the rest of the week so I'll catch it.

I'm enjoying the series. It'll be fun to watch and see what develops.

Does anyone know if they will be releasing it to DVD eventually?

This is how the series should be. I haven't completely enjoyed the last few episodes. The writing was starting to feel either rushed or lazy. But this episode was great! Better than the beginning of the series even. I just hope the dark and mysteries tone continues.

I thought that voice sounded amazingly familiar! That was Mr. Oz?!?! Sooo awesome!

ack that is one of the things I HATE about yoda as i see Yoda but hear Fozzy bear!!!

I enjoyed it.

Those old Jedi had some dedication lol to just sit there and die. Maybe the Jedi just left corpses there to scare the younglings. ;)

I'm loving this show so far.

Chopper is still my favorite.

If you're enjoying the show and haven't read A New Dawn yet you really should.

Yup. Still hate it. Big surprise.

Just watched the episode! That was awesome! Really want to know what stupid thing Ezras saber is going to pull off, or if it just is such a hunk of junk that all that extra stuff was necessary for it to function.

Ezra's saber is also a blaster pistol. Good idea if you ask me, having a melee and ranged weapon in one package. After all, it works for Zeb with his Bo-Rifle.

Ooohh, new episode? I am headed for the on demand. Defending the kids show, my kids will watch it. It's no Spongebob Squarepants though. I think the best kids shows also entertain adults.

Are you jumping to that conclusion based on it's appearance, or did you read that somewhere?

Ezra's Saber is described in the Star Wars Rebels Visual Guide. The circle at the top of the handguard is the barrel of the pistol.

You can see the basic idea of how it is supposed to work from the toy version on Amazon .

Well all I can say is about time. Everyone had a real gun except Ezra. I am seriously sick of his electro slingshot thing. Though props to the writers for making it nearly useless.

I wondered if that's what it was. Hera said she gave him some high tech and I saw the trigger. Weird.

Actually, that might be the beat cu de gras attack ever. How many times in the films have we seen two force users locked face to face, blade to blade. In that clasic pose, Ezra shoots them. I hope that happens at least once, it would make my day.

Except that's not something I believe any Jedi would do.

A Sith would not hesitate.

Ezra is not a Jedi yet. He can feel bad about it later.

A blaster/lightsabre?......really?....I mean really? The ancient weapon of the Jedi knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. Until now.

To be fair, Ezra really hasn't needed anything lethal before he met up with the Ghost crew so the energy slingshot does make sense.

I love that Ezra got stuff for his sabre from everyone on his crew. And that it's a weird kind of sabre for a weird kind of Jedi.

Anyone remember Ulysses 31. He sported a blaster / saber weapon.
