Ten Numb + Merc CoPilot + Marksmanship

By Slugrage, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So if Ten Numb is there, with the E2 mod to equip a Mercenary Co-Pilot and also takes a Mangler Cannon, does that mean potentially three {hit} get converted to three {crit} results?

Marksmanship converts {focus} results to one {crit} and the rest {hit}

Merc & Mangler then combine to change two of the {hit} to {crit}

Then of those three {crit} results, one of them cannot be cancelled by defense dice.

Correct on all counts.

Not quite. His name is Ted Numb now.

Yes, while this is something you *can* do - I would warn that is not something you *should* do. Ten is already really expensive so throwing a lot of upgrades on him to get more than 1 crit is usually a waste of points. I would suggest taking only one of those (less so the Merc Copilot, go with either the mangler or marksmanship). Typically if you do get 2 or more crits, your opponent will just cancel all but the one that Ten prevents from being cancelled.

By all means load everything onto a 1 agility ship, that way the game ends quicker when its taken out first :)

It's always the expensive ones that get targeted for destruction early. If you put too much faith in a "one-hit wonder", it invariably turns sour when the opposing squad concentrates on it.

I tend to come up against folks that use a lot of 2-dice attacks. It's not a huge stretch to get something like this on the table and chew up the opposition, even with their 3-dice Agility base.

I've killed a b-wing with a decimator in two turns, I've killed one with a mini swarm in a single turn.

They are tough little ships but not able to withstand concentrated fire for long.
