Rebel's - Seven & Seven

By Moore84, in X-Wing Squad Lists

First of all I'd like to say I have a ton of respect for 58pt Super Dash, highly mobile large ship with essentially 3 actions and a HLC! But I want to take Dash in a different direction! I still want to take a action, take another action, get stressed and then trade that stress for a focus token! But I want to trade mobility for firepower! In honor of the NFL Playoffs trade my Tailback for a Quarterback! So i give you my new Quarterback...

Rebel 7 & 7 (100pt)

Dash Rendar (36)

- Marksmanship (3)

- Outrider (5)

- Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

- Kyle Katarn (3)

- Experimental Interface (3)

A lot of ppl don't like Marksmanship but I do! Especially with Experimental Interface...actions normally go in this sequence: TL, trigger EI and marksmanship, fire HLC, burn TL to reroll blanks for accurate high power! Do a green maneuver and get that focus(used for defense), then rinse and repeat!

As for my support I opted for my 2nd favorite ship and pilot...Keyan Farlander! Keep him at pointed at dash to protect that R1 dead space! Once Dash is gone or Keyan is engaged he goes to work with the following:

Keyan Farlander (29)

- Stay on Target (2)

- Advanced Sensors (3)

- Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

- B-Wing/E2 (1)

- Intelligence Agent (1)

I believe Stay on Target + E2 + Intel Agent is a must for his PS to keep him competitive with higher PS pilots, HLC + TL + Strocus equals the same effect and firepower as on Dash!

Tell me what you men/women think about this build please, taking it to a tourney and would like a little feedback! Thanks in advance!

*EDIT* plus I don't own EU or PTL for the tournament and borrowing is not an option *EDIT*

I'm not a big fan of being forced to stick to the greens on the Outrider's awesome dial and especially without an Engine Upgrade to make up for the limited mobility. If you don't mind that limitation it looks like you've got a reasonable alternative to triple action Dash for not have access to Engine Upgrade or PTL.

I tried a similar build with Keyan and worry that he dies too easily in a 2 ship list to justify the huge amount of points that are sunk into him. He'd probably be fine if your opponents went after Dash first but I wouldn't count on that happening. Keyan is essentially tossing out the same amount of damage that Dash does but he goes down much faster.

You are right about Keyan, did think of it that way...thanks for the input!
