X-Wing List Juggler

By sozin, in X-Wing

it would also be nice to see not only the efficency of a list but the time period in which that list got good results, or the efficency of a lists in the last 3 month?

so the data isnt biased by the number of lets say Han/Corran that were played last year.

or am i missing something on the table?

it would be nice if it suggested squads based on my strengths and whims of the moment.

yeah, I'm noodling over ways of visually displaying summary data for a list, like: performance in tournaments (winner, top-8, etc), popularity over time, etc. stay tuned.

Hmm, Jan Ors filtered enabled

I hate to make the suggestion, but have you put any thought into doing this same thing for Imperial Assault or Armada? I've got Cryodex versions for each of them so pumping out List Juggler JSON for each should be trivial.

hey real Q, is escalation supported by Cryodex + list Juggler?

You can do escalation on Cryodex and it will export into list juggler JSON. I'm not sure what LJ would do with it when uploaded.

heh, no plan for that. there's some xwing specific "business logic" in juggler (for example, the list builders) that I loathe to implement for another game system.

sort of. you can set the tournament type to 'Escalation' when you create the tournament. however, juggler currently has a 1-1 mapping between the tournament and the list you bring; since the list changes round-to-round for escalation, I'd have to change the schema to support the 1-1 mapping from round to list.

Fine with me. Screw those games!

It would be nice to be able to limit to regionals, limit to more than N lists, search for all lists with a given ship type, etc.

Quick question -- did you mean for search? "type=regional and ship=xwing" will get you every regional list flying an x-wing, for example.

I meant for /listrank specifically. Putting type=regional into that search box returns zero results. Thanks for looking into it! :)

ah, cool. yeah that is just a dumb text search area that comes out of the box with datatables.

with wisconsin regionals done, and 97 lists to enter, I'm creating a formal 'crowdsourced' feature. when you visit the page you'll be presented with a random image of a list. you'll select the tournament and player name that the list belongs to, then be redirected to the list entry screen.

I'm having trouble exporting all the tourneys to excel. It stopped working a couple days ago and I haven't been able to do it since. Also, earlier when I did export the list, the Vancouver Regional tourney had a bit of a bug where the columns where shifted by 1 (ie. the Swiss Ranking was showing up in the Championship Ranking column etc.)

hey bmf! looking into now. cheers.

Ok, fixed both issues.

The recent Copenhagen regional had a corrupt list in it -- it was missing a faction and only had one ship. Weird. I added some checks and fixed the list.

The Vancouver regional (and a few others...) had a ... comma in the name :-) Since I wasn't quoting tourney names with commas in 'em it was offsetting the csv. Rather than become bogged down in doing it the Right Way (protecting commas, quoting strings, etc), I just stripped out any comma that appears :-) Let me know if you don't like that and I'll curse my lazy ways and go do it again :-)

Finally, fixed a bug that was called out in the regionals feedback threads -- you couldn't add anti pursuit lasers to the Aggressor. (Like they should ever take anything but autothrusters, amirite?) I had Aggressors incorrectly tagged as small base ships, and so the rules were preventing APLs.

Cheers

Quick question, maybe this was discussed somewhere else already, but is there an easy way to export official FFG tournament software into list juggler? Minds in Chicago want to know. :-) thanks!

A new bug was fixed:

voidstate exported Gray Squadron Pilots with the other spelling of Gray/Grey, while YASB did the correct one for XWS format.

Someone running that unsung Y-Wing in our last summer kit tourney brought the bug to light!

argh, sadly no. ffg has yet to open up the beta to either me or to chris brown (cryodex author). I've ask them just for an output file (I'm told there is some sort of json or xml file save format), but no luck so far.

EDIT: I've bumped my email thread with ffg OP, hopefully it'll help!

Thanks Sozin! I guess Ron will have to manually enter everything if he finds the time. I promised him to ask.

I've added wave 7 to listjuggler. tested imports with yasb, looks good.

list tagging is next! (as per the meta categorization thread)

small update: added the ability to edit round results from the tourney results page. (I blame mu0n :-) )

in theory I've added all the force awakens stuff, but am getting some xws errors with yasb; working with geordan to see whats up, then will test the other two importers.

There are a couple things I need to do: update the XWS backend with the new data, and update how XWS is imported and exported because of the new subfactions that were introduced.

ok, the above is done. also, the xws schema has changed the faction names (from 'rebels' to 'rebel', 'empire' to 'imperial'), so I had to patch lj for that.

finally, I'm continuing beavering along working on list archtypes in my train ride to/from work. I keep getting distracted by my kindle though. (horus heresy 40k novels ... so many!)
