And, and, and... Could the ships get sorted so that the largest value for the current month (last month?) is at the top? So from the top, t-70s, Ys, Bs, As, t-65s, Es.
And make it blink and sparkle with the frequency that they won events! /sarcasm
all good requests (except for the sparkly blinkies). stay tuned.
put a small ship icon at the right end so it appears the graph color band is the ship's exhaust or something
Ships are done.
I really like this view. Something I would like added because I'm lazy and love demanding work from fellow engineers is a single button that would result in "only rebel/imperial/scum" ships being shown. I'm a lazy bastard and don't want to click a dozen times to get see how my rebel scum are doing.
This is done. I added some faction filters to the bottom.

.... and filter by only ships that made the elimination cut.
Yay. Feature requests are fun !
Yeah. And also the various tournament types. And also a quick filter for big and small base sizes.
I hope you're not doing this with huge SQL requests filled with "shoved in" variables.
That reaches vassal java levels of Horror.
No, but not too different -- one sql expression to get the raw data followed by a second pass in Python to apply filters/rollups.
But I do do exactly that to implement the search function . Check out search.py -- some real man's programming in there :-)
Edited by sozinThe time graphs are fantastic! Any way you can add line segments to indicate wave releases? As I don't have the months of the releases memorized, that would be extremely helpful.
Plotlines!

Yaaaaayyy! This is so so so fantastic!
Edit: Also, am I the only one who sees the Firespray as a Rebel ship? lol Sozin, do you know something we don't? haha
Edited by KdubbPayback article content is now in LJ.
Re: Firespray as Rebel ship, yeah, somehow someone got a mixed faction squad into juggler some while ago. Still need to figure out how that happened :-)
Excellent visualizations! I love the TIE Advanced graph. Amazing the story it tells. Great work sir!
sozin, I don't know how you do this stuff. If I got back to back to back feature requests like this for my reports at work I would go postal.
I'm cool with it because everyone who is making the back-to-back-requests are folks that have, over the last year and change, been super supportive and helpful of this project. off the top of my head (sorry if I missed someone on this thread): ardvaark is the cryodex author, without wickedgray we wouldn't have the xws spec, majorjuggler was instrumental in getting this whole initiative off the ground, kdubb has helped a lot with the community, mu0n is vassal author, etc etc.
Ok, I added all the filter types that have been requested.

Next set of graphs are pilot graphs and upgrade graphs.
I'm also going to retire the bar charts as I believe the time series are just as good.
Edited by sozinOk, I finished pilots and then went back and did some ergonomic stuff.
First, I added a top 10 toggle to both ships and pilots so that, on first blush, the user isn't overwhelmed by a bunch of lines:
Pilots is now implemented, with all the filter fixins you fine folks wanted:
Upgrades is next, and Antigrapist asked me to do an initiative bid graph to show how initiative has changed over time, which is a good one.
Thanks for all the work on this!
I use this site A LOT!
thank you!
Man, look at how balanced that meta has become (evenly spaced top 10s). Very nice!
fixed a good bug that majorjuggler found involving backfilling of missing data.
Posted while 3/4 through a LA->Sydney flight...
Upgrades are done. They are at the bottom of the time series page .
Speaking of graphs, listjuggler is getting 1M+ hits a month now. Crazy!
Time to throw some Google text ads down at the bottom and get some wave 9 money. :-)
I added a pilot skill graph. It has limited utility right now because, to be truly useful, it needs to incorporate whether or not VI / adaptability are being used.
Here's our pal, the Lambda Shuttle
I'm going to take a step back from graphs now and re-do the style of the site to use bootstrap. It's kind of meh looking (soviet style is how I roll ... ugly but functional).
