The Little Guys (S&V list)

So ive been looking at this Most Wanted box ive got on order and decided to see what i can come up with based on whats in there.

Kavil - Blaster Turret, R4 Agromech

Torkhil - Ion Cannon Turret

Palob - Wingman

N'dru - Cluster Missiles, Lone Wolf

- 99pts

So not the most offensive bunch in the world, but operating N'dru on his own flank to put those missiles to use, with the little 3 ship block of 2 HWKs and a Y with Turrets, some killer abilities and Palob to keep Kavil stress free.

Palob flies a hawk. Attack 1. Surely you're not going to let him fly without turret?

I just couldnt find the points.

Hes there more for his ability anyway and to make sure that Kavil gets his shot. If i drop Wingman i could give him an Autoblaster but its only R1. He wont be shooting half the time anyway.

Drop cluster missiles and Wingman and give him a turret, otherwise he's wasted points. Or if you just want to deny actions you could have the same effect, or better, with a maneuverable ship like a M3-A and blocking with it, also cheaper, also better offensively.

If i dropped the Clusters chances are it would be N'Dru that would be dropped, Palob would get his Turret and id probably take a bare bones Headhunter etc.

To be honest, wouldn't it be better to drop one of the two hawks?

The FFG article says it is no longer a pure support ship, but it is still quite some way from a true fighter.

Their abilities combined though make it very tempting to run them though. Ill have to have a think.

I'm not sure how well Wingman would work on a HWK. Y-Wings aren't the quickest ships in the game but they still have a much better dial than HWKs. I think you'll find it limiting to try to keep Kavil within range one of Palob for Wingman to fire off.

I've always found the pricing on HWKs to be deceptive. They look like a fairly inexpensive with nice abilities that you can slip into a list but you really need to plan to spend at least another 7-10 points on them to get the most out of them. A pair of HWK really becomes the centerpiece of your list if you want either of them to be effective ships.

My question to you is "Are you only planning to build a list with cards/ships that are inside the box? Or do you own a firespray that you would be willing to add to your list?"

Im wanting to avoid the Firespray for now. Im getting bored of all the big ship lists. Eventually it will show up but for now im keeping with the little guys.

So little guys Z-95, Y and HWK are your ships to use then. Got it!

What about upgrade cards what do you have and are willing to use?
