Fel is well, he's Fel! I love flying the Baron.

Just got a Phantom so want to try them out. VI bumps him up to Fel's level for shooting.

Then with Kagi I have a shuttle that can move first and shoot just after the other two. Considering Dooming him. Hopefully there won't be much left to shoot back!

What are the drawbacks to this that you can see? The Lambda's dial is one, plus if Whisper is ioned I guess he's in trouble.

VI on Whisper is not all that good, especially with all the high PS builds out there, not to mention all the Fat Falcons.

If you want to run Whisper/Echo here is what you run:

Predator (for rerolls), Advanced Cloaking Device (you NEED that 4 agility - the focus is really not that useful with only 2 agility) and EITHER Rebel Captive (Whisper) or Recon Specialist (Echo). - 42 pts for Whisper, 40 for Echo

Your shuttle is set up all wrong, you have elements of the "target lock" build and the "block/ram" build. Go with either 1 or the other.

If you are going to work the Target Lock Lambda shuttle here is that build:

COL Jendon Weapons Engineer, ST-321 Title (32) PTS.

If you are going to work the "Blocker" Lambda shuttle you run:

Omicron Group Pilot, Enhanced Scopes, Mara Jade, Intelligence Agent, Anti-Pursit Lasers Total 28 PTS. - Intimidation is optional.

Now, at this point you have either 68 pts (Echo) or 70 (Whisper). If you want to run an interceptor for those points, you will NOT be able to run Fel. Here is what I would suggest you run.

Tetran Cowell => PTL/Predator, Stealth Device. (30 pts)

Total Build Whisper/Omicron/Tetran - 100 pts.

VI is great on Whisper if you can pull initiative. Your opponent will have to push themselves over PS 9 to beat you. Without VI on Whisper, any PS 8 or PS 9 pilot is going to be able to blast you without being able to cloak first, which brings me to my next point...

Never not run ACD on the named Phantoms, its an auto-include. Otherwise there is no point on even running one. I'd run a Defender or Interceptor instead.

All I would do to your initial squad is drop Weapons Engineer (not too useful) for ACD on the Phantom. That will put you at 98 which is an ok bid for initiative.

You could drop Kagi down to a OGP with some upgrades, but I think Kagi could mess up some plans if your opponent is going to rely on Target-locks.

I've been to three tournaments now, and I saw one Fat Han, so I don't think he's a big deal around here.

42 is a lot to spend on one ship, especially a 4HP ship.

You've given me plenty to think about there guys. Thanks!

drawback to me is having Fel and Whisper in today's meta. Thats two ships that can be one shot...until autothrusters come out interceptors are not impossible...but very risky.

Wow no offense, but i wonder if there is anything correct in this post...

It starts with VI is bad on Whisper (i already wondered how long it would take until anyone would realize it... xD) and ends with 30 points Tetran Cowbell...

Fel plus PTL fir 30 is just better any day of the week than Tetran even without stealth. In the Echo build you could give him even Autothrusters in the Future.

I just hope this is no deliberate sabotage... If not, please really i don't want to offend you pal, but most of this is just plain wrong, sorry!

"Whisper” (35)

TIE Phantom (32), Veteran Instincts (1), Stygium Particle Accelerator (2) Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

Captain Kagi (31)

Lambda-Class Shuttle (27), Enhanced Scopes (1), Weapons Engineer (3) Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

Soontir Fel (33)

TIE Interceptor (27), Push the Limit (3), Stealth Device (3)

I made the smallest changes I could. As noted above, ACD is really great on the named Phantoms over SPA. On Kagi, the APL will be very annoying for your opponent when you get to move first and block his stuff and now potentially damage them for free. I've flown a similar list and it's a lot of fun, if not actually all that easy to fly. If you want to keep it at 99 points for the initiative bid, swap Stealth Device on Fel for Targeting Computer. I love dropping Fel into range 1 of someone with either boost of barrel roll, then using PtL for a target lock...with the free focus from his ability, that's 4 dice with focus and target lock!!

If you are going to work the "Blocker" Lambda shuttle you run:

Omicron Group Pilot, Enhanced Scopes, Mara Jade, Intelligence Agent, Anti-Pursit Lasers Total 28 PTS. - Intimidation is optional.

Intimidation is only optional if you want to cheat. No Shuttle can take Elite Pilot Talens. ;)

This is some of the worst advice I've seen In a long time.

Veteran instincts is awesome on many many ships, phantom included.

If your going to run a interceptor and have 30 pts, Sontir Fel is the way to go.

Not Tetran Cowell

Have you thought about Yorr instead of Kagi? Now that Decimators are bringing Rebel Captive and/or Mara Jade it's best to not have your Phantom stressed.

99 pts

Whisper

- VI

- FCS

- Rebel Captive

- ACD

Soontir

- PTL

- Stealth Device

Yorr

Cheers guys, some very interesting points.

Between logging off last night and coming back on today, I had a tinker. It's not far off what some of you have suggested.

We're thinking along the same lines!

FEL YORR WHISPER

100 points

"Whisper” (44)

Captain Yorr (26)
Lambda-Class Shuttle (24), Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

I could drop the APL to make a decent initiative bid, which I'd then give to the opposition so Fel and Whisper could line up on them.

I think you'll find that Apl not as useful as you think

I think you'll find that Apl not as useful as you think

That's why I think it will be dropped for an initiative bid.

Kagi's one of the best ships for Enhanced Scopes in the game. This way, he protects your low-ps ships from the enemy target locks!

Of course, you're not actually running anyone with low ps, so this becomes problematic.

Wait until enhanced scopes comes out before fielding Kagi.

He will truly shine by then.

Hate to come across as 'one of those guys', but I have to agree with everyone else... Emmjay's is some of the most incorrect advice I've seen given. VI is far better than Predator on a Phantom. With four attack dice as standard the need for a single re-roll is minimal. Shooting first (or if not first than quite high up the pecking order) is almost essential. While I agree with taking ACD, it's so you can re-cloak. You get the 4 agility when cloaked with a Particle Accelerator or a naked Phantom.

If you are going to work the "Blocker" Lambda shuttle you run:

Omicron Group Pilot, Enhanced Scopes, Mara Jade, Intelligence Agent, Anti-Pursit Lasers Total 28 PTS. - Intimidation is optional.

Intimidation isn't optional at all. None of the shuttle pilots can take an EPT upgrade.

Wait until enhanced scopes comes out before fielding Kagi.

He will truly shine by then.

Enhanced Scopes are out, they come in the Rebel Aces expansion!
