personally id drop the missles and put upgrades on the patrol leader

Yeah could be done, but not really the point of this thread. Lists like:

Don't really know for sure tbh, played a tournament yesterday with 5 out of 6 lists having large ships, there were lots of times when Ion Pulse Missiles would have put them in a position they could not have escaped from (they would have flown of the board the next round or the round after due to no space to maneuver around).
Also it's always nice to put an ion token on lots of ships, all stressed ships, interceptors, a-wings etc.
I'm going to playtest a few of these bomber/patrol leader builds, because I have a hunch that there's something there. The 34HP in itself is not something to joke about.
Bombers work awesome with the decimator
I usually fly oicunn with 2 bombers and a tie, prox mines on the bomber.
Won many games with it but lost once to a swarm

Have you considered Fleet Officer on the Patrol Leader? So your bombers can get a focus when shooting with ordnance that instructs you to discard the target look. But for that, you have to fly your bombers close to the decimator, which I'm not sure if you want to do that.

Considered it before. Dropping one Ion Pulse in order to fit it in could be very nice, an uncommon. Like it, thank you!

I would like to say that I've found that a naked Patrol Leader isn't worth his points. Even just a doom decimator makes a patrol leader worth it. What about:

My first reaction is to say you really should have a fourth ship, but I just got done flying against a kitted out Kenkirk with 2 proximity mine-equipped bomber escorts. It was a good build.
Been playing around with different builds and I think I landed on a nice version. My only problem is no Ion Pulse Missile. But The Clusters and Proximity Mines should be able to deal a lot more damage. IA is there for psych the opponent more then anything else.
