Zekka Thyne and Dead Bodies

By Andur Saibot, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Hi!

Can "Over my Dead Body" (Interrupt: When a unit in play executes an Action or Reaction ability, cancel that ability's effect) cancel Zekka's Forced Reaction?

I would think so, but I am not sure if the "Forced" part makes a difference or is inclusive for reactions anyway. The same with Jawas, BTW.

Tanks in advance.

Yep, that works.

To expand a little on that answer, the Forced tag only exists to remind you that the Reaction effect of this card is non-optional - the effect is still a Reaction, even with the tag.

I always wanted to play Over My Dead Body to keep a jawa in play just long enough to shoot it.

Zekka's trigger is a Forced Interrupt, not a Reaction. As such, Over My Dead Body can't do anything to it. Had it been a Forced Reaction, though, it would have worked.

Heh, good catch.

We should really start a policy of posting card text with our questions... That way we can cut down mistaken answers from misremembered text and make it easier to answer questions without having to jump over to fliptheforce or cgdb and look up the card.

Yeah! I was about to post the same now I re-read Zekka and realized it was an Interrupt. Sorry, guys, and thanx. Luckily I added the Jawa to the question so it was not a total waste. :D
