2015 Store Championship Results

By MajorJuggler, in X-Wing

note that there is only 1 list that did not include a Falcon, ACD Phantom nor Decimator, and he is at 13th place. That player came in 2nd for our Regionals last year with a Falcon 3 Zs list.

Do you have the Swiss vs elimination breakdown? And what was the round length?

I saw a battlebunker tourney come in one juggler a few minutes ago - think the results are being entered now.

I need to add a Dropbox like event feed to the site ...

Across all the recent tournaments, lots and lots of Decimators, no surprise there, such a cool ship.

A bit disappointed (not surprised, though) to see all the turret lists entering top eight. Props to the guy who got top 8 with that Corran and 2x A-Wing list, though, that's awesome!

Was wanting to try some shenanigans with a Buzzsaw + Bounty Hunter + Dark Curse list, but it's looking like if I even want to be competitive I'm going to have to use a turreted ship =\ a bit unfortunate.

Wave 6 is just around the corner, don't worry.

Issy les Moulineaux store championship 17/01/15. 28 players, no top, 1 hour rounds.

I'll try to get the top 8 results and lists.

Winner (Ica):

Oicunn, rebel captive, gunner, Isanne Isard, predator, engine upgrade 61

Whisper, FCS, VI, ACD 39

2nd (BothanSpy):

-Han (46) + Lando (3) + falcon title(1) + EU (4) + VI (1) + gunner (5) = 60
-Tala (13) X 3 = 39

(Morgan Reid Team Covenant Aces Week 2 list)

I faced :

round 1 : Echo, VI, ACD, recon, sensor jammer+ Whisper, VI, ACD, sensor jammer + Backstabber 99pts

round 2 :Han+ Corran Horn

round 3 : Whisper, FCS, VI, ACD 39

Kenkirk, rebel captive, Isanne Isard, PTL, engine upgrade 58 (97pts, made a mistake and put 2 rebel captives originaly)

round 4 :Kenkirk+ Howlrunner + 2 obsidians

round 5 :Han + 3 talas (pHeaver world list)

Hardest matchup was against Whisper + Kenkirk where I lost Whisper to Kenkirk after taking down his Whisper. Oicunn got to ram 4 times! Final MOV after round 5 was 961.

There were around 8 Decimator lists.

Quite a bit of falcons and corran horns showed up. Was expecting to see more decimators, YT-2400s, and phantoms though. But overall a pretty diverse field and fun event.

Edited my post to add the 2nd squadron for the Issy les Moulineaux store championship ( http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/130877-2015-store-championship-results/page-6#entry1412635 ).

Morgan list is really good and much better with Oicunn+predator than my Kenkirk+VI build. It is slightly worse against VP5-7 ships with no turrets (Keyan) but the improved firepower more than make up for it.

Interesting list for sure, i wonder how well it worked against Han if you didnt have initaitve with Whisper? 1vs1 Oicunn vs Han i'd still pick Han to be honest.

First matchup against Han + Corran : got initiative, which allowed me to block Han on a rock with whisper.

Oicunn also worked great at blocking corran (who was a bit predictable due to R2D2).

Second matchup, Han took initiative, but by taking evade as whisper action and relying on FCS I took him down in 4 turns with the help of Oicunn, loosing 2 shields in the process. Talas were pretty much a non issue as whisper could arc dodge them. pHeaver list is great but does not deal that much damage with only predator on Han if you can manage to stay at range 2+ and take evade as your action. There is a 46% chance of taking 1 damage and a 14% chance of taking 2 damage at range 2.

It's not ideal, but it doable. In the end game, the Oicunn vs Han is not so bad if you manage to deal enough damage beforehand.

OK...I need to practice my Tie Bomber list vs. Phantoms. I just need to get the TL and then a firing arc on one of these guys and I think the ordnance can get them. Might have to fly out of formation, though. That would lose the re-rolls.

From what I have seen from the results of the semi-local meta, South Eastern US, the phantoms are not nearly as common as the YTs and Decis. But this is based on just a few Store Championships. Also, if the stores are being "encouraged" to run more Swiss rounds, then you will be seeing more 60 min games. You need to be able to kill an elusive or very defensive Large ship or two.

Great to see Oicunn getting some love and well done Icareane on winning against all those Han Solo's!

l really enjoy using a Decimator with all the toys on it and it makes it such a fun ship to fly. I'm taking it to 30 player tournament this weekend and i'll be interested to see how it fares against all the different match ups.

This is the top 8 rounds from Dogs of War store champ on 1/17/15. There was some sort of problem with using cryodex or something so things were entered manually in the juggler, and the results are the just the swiss standings:

1. Ben (Rebel Swarm) defeat 8. Tree (Whisper + Chir)

2. Peyton Bentley (Fat Han + Fringer) defeat 7. (Stacked corran + chunky chewie)

6. Travis Cooper (me) (Super Dash + Corran) defeat 3. (PS bid rebel swarm...)

5. Joe LaPorta (Boba + Chir) defeats 4. Matt (first tourney I believe, played well didnt just luck into it with Vessery + Expose Chir)

Top 4

6. Travis Cooper (Dash) defeats 1. Ben (rebel 6 ship)

2. Peyton Bentley (fat han) defeats 5. Joe Laporta (boba + chir)

Final

6. Travis Cooper (dash) defeats 2. Peyton Bentley (fat han)

Last names included for our group that went, didn't catch/ remember anyone else's from the top 8 unfortunately. I lost 2 games in swiss to the two decimator players in the top 8. Difficult matchup for sure, though I probably should've had one of them but made a couple mistakes. No margin for error with that.

Most of the top 8 games, as well as many of the swiss from the tourney should be on you tube at some point. We had not one, but TWO cameras set up filming tables.

There is a 46% chance of taking 1 damage and a 14% chance of taking 2 damage at range 2.

This is why in that situation, shooting at uncloaked whisper early on, Han needs to focus to drastically increase the damage output. If whisper dies and han has decent health left (assuming r2d2) he's all but assured to win, and that's even with the ram damage. Also there would likely still be z-95s left to pick at it too, if whisper goes down a round or 2 faster like that.

But, at the end of the day, I imagine it's a safe bet that you were the more experienced player and it was the difference. That's the great thing about all these lists and matchups. If someone has the know how, they can still overcome them fairly reliably compare to some games out there. That's why people have trouble deciphering the meta or w/e by just looking at results because lists that shouldn't win vs certain lists still do. "Netdecking" doesn't work too well in this game without the know how on flying it.

Doesn't worry me too much. Every list had 1 of these 3 ships? Better than "every list had a falcon".

wave 4 was YT1300 or Phantoms. Now we got decimators. Dash problem is that it can have troubles against phantoms and large base turrets with engine upgrade and higher PS.

On a side note, how long until somebody says "bring a swarm" ?

Hey Bobby, sent you a private message. If something went wrong with Cryodex, I'd love to hear about it and get it fixed. Thanks!

Greenville, SC Store Championship information has now been posted to the List Juggler site. The store champion requested that his list not be posted, so I just put in the ships he used without upgrades. I will try to keep up with all local tournaments to make sure they get added to the statistics. Enjoy!

There were only 7 of 26 lists that did not have a Large Turreted ship, and only 4 lists were small ship only lists...must have been the 60 min rounds.

Of course now he has unwittingly invoked the Streisand Effect ! It also has the inadvertent effect of messing up statistics later, but it's mostly in the noise. Hopefully you can convince him to eventually release the details of his Han Solo + Chewbacca list.

When the information finally comes out it better be something totally off the wall and innovative or else that guy deserves any mockery coming his way over his "Top Secret" list.

Not a "Top Secret" list, he just doesn't want to add to the general insanity of "net listing", I think. He is an occasional reader of posts on the Forums, but isn't too active with posts. To each, their own. He is also a friend, so no reason to go against his request.

That's cool. Most guys that I've met that would make a request like that would do it because they think it's preserving some sort of competitve edge that they have. Good for you for respecting his wishes.

Is it just me or is Wave 4 & 5 the worst? Reading these lists makes me not want to go to an event.
