Tekken 6. Characters Revealed. Woot!

If they were going for big name Tekken characters, then why the hell did they choose Christie? Who gives a crap, where are the really big names (outside of the 3 good characters they actually used), oh yeah, nowhere to be found, and now that we are down to 1 set per release, we have no hope of seeing more for another year, but we are gonna get another SC4 set... if you are gonna go to 1 set per release, then a lisence should not be used more than once a year.

it was a last minute change that made it 1 set per release from the SToG...

Everyone is going to have favorite characters, and everyone would have a list of 6 that they would choose to put in a set. Christie happens to be my favorite character, and a lot of people like her, if not for her visual appeal then for her unorthodox movement and fighting style.

What we have to remember is that a lot goes into deciding who to put in a set, characters are sometimes chosen to match game mechanics that designers want in the set... And capoera is a unique fighting style that the game doesn't have yet, we have boxers, we have kickers, we have throwers, do we have dancing?

I would highly expect a 'new' Tekken character to be released via promo sooner than later... And instead of whining about fewer sets, and IP saturation of one in favor of one you like more... Why don't you just go and buy more cards, from FFG or your B and M store (not some online mass engine) and financially support them so that more sets are released and sooner?

Everybody not named Christie was in Tekken 1, making perfect sense they'd be in the first expansion.

Christie, much like Law, is a newb spamwhore. Just spam them kicks and watch the feet fly!

But like dut said, she has good mechanics to take advantage of.

Also, Namco gets the first say on who is printed, and I'm sure it was their decision to include her.

Maybe over at Namco they just like brown sugar?

THING THE FIRST :

Capoera was in UFS in two forms, Soiree and Elena.

THING THE SECOND :

I love how your answer to "We don't like X version of product." is "Go buy X version of product that you don't like."

I'm glad you love it, I love it too!!! Spend money to make money, spend money to spend more money.

Except I spent money and now I'm broke. Which is why I'm currently on the forums on a bad computer rather than a jury-rigged decent one.

So your plan doesn't work :(

Yeah, I know how it is... you spent your money on the wrong stuff!!!

Just kidding, I actually know how it is.

Despite the fact there is dance fighting in the game, relatively speaking 2/many characters isn't a lot. I guess my point is she is diverse enough, and attractive enough to make an appearance, and with a still 'relatively' unique fighting style.

Who gives a **** about the new Tekken characters?

This is the premier set! This is the only time they're going to get to really flaunt what they can with Tekken, and they need a cast that is well-known, fan-based, and all playable-upon-release.

From what I hear, they've remained true to this. Although logically it makes sense, "Hey, Tekken 6 set, why not the new characters?", but it's also the first Tekken expansion.

And yes, my blood boils when I think about how Jin is not a part of this set.

Agreed, especially when Jin is the poster boy for Tekken, but thats another big name for a later set too. So I can be just as excited for the later sets to come :)

Yeah, but then again did we really need another Karate guy (Paul), another wrestler (King), etc.

Paul is staple Tekken, and so is King... I know the argument is a degenerate one, why 5 staple characters and 1 non, when there are 10 more staple characters.

I guess the answer is not mine to make. I just wish we could reach a level of satisfaction with what we get, instead of always wanting more to the point of complaining.

Not to beat the a very dead horse, but it's not about wanting MORE. It's about resigning ourselves to the decrease in quantity and wanting the game we love to balance that decrease with an increase in quality. Please don't mistake complaining (which there is to some degree) with feedback. Without feedback the game wouldn't be what it is today (like it or not). I never "complained" about Lord of the Makai or Olcadon's Mentoring, but many others did and becuase of feedback neither of them are legal as of tomorrow.

Count me among the many that are startled that Namco obviously didn't want to push the "6" in Tekken 6. That aside, if they werre going for brand recognition Jin is a much more recognized character. Yes, I know he hasn't been around as Paul, but if anything that shows how much more people care about the posterboy versus the uninspired-yet-always-there Phoenix.

Obviously the Christie choice makes sense even if it's not the BEST choice in many people's mind. As mentioned before if does give them a chance to redo capoeria with the new combo mechanic which wasn't around when the other practitioners of the art were introduced into UFS. Plus she's a babe. There's no two ways around it, sex sells. Again, it wouldn't be my choice, but we can always hope that by our characters being passed over this time, that there will be more time to make the better when they do come out. In the female department I'd like to see Asuka Kamaza myself, and I know I'm not alone there. :)

She's hot that's why.

also, Jin MIGHT be a promotional character, like you buy 6 packs and get him, which would be a REALLY smart move.

Christie IS hot, and her fighting style as presented in the arcade fighter IS very fun and interesting to play; my hope is for those mechanics to be well represented in UFS!

Jin as a Promo character makes me happy!!

We're not getting Tekken until September, WHATTTTTTTTTT

Pardon the swearing, but...

HOLY **** THAT IS LATE.

Thats assuming it is'nt a mistake. Hopefully the STOG will let us know.

SHINJI MIMURAAAAA TO THE RESCUEEEEE

Hey there fellas, maybe I can shed some light on this whole "September issue"

I called FFG personally yesterday trying to weasel my way into some spoilers/release date, and I was promptly told to stop being a rapscallion and/or knave.

and they also confirmed the set is being printed and will be out in July.

So stfu and bow to your master!

*also, to the guy who said they printed Christie because FFG likes brown sugar

As a man who loves brown sugar, you, sir, get a high flying high five!*
