Single Bomber: possible?

By LouisCypher, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have a single Bomber expansion and I was wondering if it'd be possible to build a decent list around it. I just fly casual, no tourneys.

C'mon, show me your majestic ideas! :D

I just forgot: I have

2x core set

2x tie fighter

tie advanced

Imperial aces

tie bomber

tie defender

slave 1

X wing

2x y wing

a wing

b wing

Rebel aces

Captain Jonus (22)

Determination (1)

Delta Squadron Pilot (30)

Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

I may switch to shield/hull/stealth or buy Jonus some ordnance instead

Not really competitive, but it'd be fun to play. :P

I played a variation of this in my store, and another player did reasonably well with it in a Team Covenant Vassal Tournament. But with all the new ordnance, you can really make some interesting squads with Rhymer + mini swarm. You could give him VI + Flechettes in an attempt to battle phantoms, or Ion Pulse Missiles to make Engine Upgrade large ships a little more predictable for your mini swarm to chew them up. Adv. Proton Torpedoes + Push the Limit is always a good time, because of his range enhancement ability.

So yeah, I think even if it's not competitive it's worth a try, and you will have a lot of fun. You may even find a way to tweak it and make it competitive for your local scene!
