Ok so the basic 100pts arena is 90x90 cm
Are there any rules on dimension of arena for larger point pool? Ie. 150? 200? 300?
What are your opinions on that.

Epic is played on 90x180...for some reason.
The FFG tournament rules call for a 3 foot by 3 foot play area and the FFG epic tournament rules specify a 6 foot by 3 foot area. I'm not sure what that is in cenitmeters because all official FFG measurements are done in Freedom Units™.
Down our way, we don't restrict ourselves to 3' by 3' for a bigger game. It just gets too tight. Our standard gaming table is 4' x 8' and we generally use most of it with templates squeezed onto each end and ship cards on each player's edge. Play area ends up being about 3' x 7' all up.
The tournament rules also cover the escalation format which goes up to 150 points. This is still played in a 3'x3' area.
Ye, 150 is doable on 90x90, but I can't imagine squeezing 200pts or more on that.
3x3 ft is exactly 91,44x91,44 cm
Since 3' seems to be the optimal depth for most needs, any width deemed reasonable for the points being used in non-competitive play.
So said, we use 3'x3' up to 150 pts then 3'x6' for bigger stuff, just like epic.
I was experimenting with something like 4x4 ft (120x120 cm) and it was way better (that is square arena) to have some tactical maneuverability. It was fun actually keeping the big stuff in range / blocking the middle - was fun.
Try 7'x4'. You can effectively end up with two separate battles going on and the the winner of one side can sweep across the table to join the other battle. 200 point games tend to go like that.
My group routinely plays up to 200 points on a 3x3 foot area. These tend to be intense, but not crowded.
For 300 points, a 3x4 foot area may be fine. The other day we played two Corellian Corvettes (one Rebel, one Imperial) with their attendant smaller ships and it worked well in that space.

wow, there must have been some pretty blocking ![]()
There wasn't a lot of blocking in that Epic game, really. No ships got run over by the Corvettes. It was just intense right from the beginning, which is GREAT for a game that can last four hours or more.
I regularly play at a local game store, and we tend to just find one of the tables they have normally set up for Warhammer / Warmachine. We set up a sort of guideline for the play area on a pretty big table, which probably ends up being like 4x5. And we've had huge ships and epic play work out just fine on it.
And these are normally 200 v 200 games with just the normal 6 asteroids, and this is plenty of room.
