note card rules

By AgentJ, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I am thinking of taking 3x5 note cards and writing the rules on them. I will not be doing every rule, just the ones that are confusing/questioned the most. I think having a list of these rules on easy to access cards could be better than trying to fill through the rule book from one page to another and back.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

I did this for Xwing during the Kessal Run Tournys. It helped out allot! be sure to reference page numbers for each rule

Eventually, you can count on these fine people to make something nice for you;

For every game I have that they have made a summary for, I have it printed out and use them to great effect. I can't keep track of all the games' rules all the time, and skimming one of those puts it all back in my head, ready to rock.

Luckily, the Reference Book idea that FFG is rolling out (I first noticed it in Battlelore 2E) helps with reference checks. These books speed up play nicely, and probably wouldn't be that different than consulting index cards.

That said, if you think it'll help you with some common reminders, do it up. Player aids are always welcome.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Isn't this what the reference guide is for? All rules in alphabetical order with an index, what could be better?

Like I stated elsewhere on the forums, there as sometimes when another perspective on the rule can make it click in your head, just because the RRG gives the A-Z doesn't mean everyone will get it the first time.

Also, the back of the L2P guide has a very concise rundown of the moat frequent stuff you'd run into.

I really appreciated the 5 reference cards that came in the box. They were quite helpful.
