More characters would be apreciated, but the 5 new characters in the dungeon was accepteble, just not less then that llorando.gif

Characters I would like to see is the Orc and other nonhuman characters. We now only have the Troll, Goul and Dwarf. In the next expansion I think we at least get two more - the biggest and smallest gran_risa.gif (If not the biggest is a human on a horse - I doubt that ).

I also hope that they keep it at 5 or more.

Right now, we have 23 characters..

If the other 3 regions will also contain 5 characters, then we have 38 characters..

But small expansions may contain characters too gran_risa.gif

Hi Velhart,

Yes let's hope we do get mini's with small expansion and not only cards.

This is "Talisman the Magical Board Game" and not "Talisman the Magical Card Game"

Cheers

Ha ha

That's a good one gran_risa.gif

I want at least go for the 50 miniatures gran_risa.gif The more, the better !!

It seems we have the smallest character now....

The Leprechaun !! gran_risa.gif

Hehe... I found a portal to the Talisman world...

So.... where is that Crown......

Inner Region you say...

Let's look for a Talisman....

I wonder when we get the Vampire, Chaos Warrior, Dark Elf... happy.gif

I also hope, that the Dark Elf is better than the boring Elf from the base game..

I think we need lot's of expansions, to get all the characters from earlier editions..

On top of that, the expert book has also characters that did not show up in those expansions..

They probably sell them each in their own shop( games workshop)..

Again, those are Elliott's characters, they were not official ones.

Thanks for he answer Jon.

So the abilities are also his idea's.

It makes sense now.

Funny that the first thing I see when I come to this page is a card with an Orc. This is the whole reason I came here to post. There should be an orc for the 4th edition. Orcs are my favorite fantasy race. Please hear the call developers! Please hear the call! I don't really like the first picture i saw on the card with an orc with armor. I think this image I posted here is very acceptable. Just doesn't feel right if it ain't a bald green skin with animal fur clothing.

PLEASE HEAR THE CALL!!!

wait for The Forest Expansion ...maybe... :D

I got an idéa for a charachter, what about a "bounty hunter"?

Not sure what abileties he/she would have, but perhaps something with chasing the other players?

Example: At the start of the game the player with the bounty hunter trows one dice and if it shows a 3 then he/she pickes the third player clockwise, and he/she is the first target.

If the bounty hunter lands on the same space as the target you could choose to take that persons Talisman if he/she has one, or simply kill them off and collecting a reward, and then start over again with trowing a dice choosing a new target.

Leaving the killed player to chose a new charachter and start from scratch.

Or a "explorer" charachter that could travel further than the rest, always trowing two dices and could choose either one of the two results or the two combined?

D_M

The bounty hunter is a cool idea but not as an actual character. That is better as a "character" like death that randomly goes around the board and every player has a chance to inflict it on the other players. But the idea itself has merit. The power to steal a specific item, the one item you can use to then win the game and force people to drop everything and start over is a big deal. Would you personally love to use such a character. I'm sure you would. The game has a function like this: the Toad. You are reduced to meager status and can be killed rather easily, but to say you need to select a character immediatly as a power from a power is ludicrously powerful.

I personally wish they do not add back in master level characters. An Orc character. Ok, even a another type of mage, like a Chaos Mage perhaps where you cast a spell and roll a die and if you roll, say a 1-2 you can keep that spell if you want. Things like that seem fine. But the Master Mage from the master level character was over the top. So would a Bounty Hunter like your describing.

I'm speaking for the general purposes of the game.

From the old expansions (2nd & 3d edition):

- The Witch Doctor

- The Ninja

-The Samurai

- The Orc

- The Soldier

- The Inquisitor

- The Pilgrim

Also i ever liked the "Hopeless" Characters in my RPG's Adventures so there are some examples of that type of characters:

- The Hermit

-The Beggar

- The Blind Warrior

- The Butcher

- The Maid

- The Farmer

And in the end; other cultures characters:

-The Massai

- The Conqueror

- The Tribal Warrior

- The Redskin Chief

- The Viking

- The Shaman

- The Capoeira Fighter

I would like to see more "basic" characters that could represent inhabitants in the Talisman world, that like to do a run for the crown of command.

basic characters like "The Wizard", "The elf", "The priest" like from the basic game.

Here is my list:

Barbarian
I understand that this one might be obsolete now, with Dragon hunter, highlander and such. But it's an iconic fantasy-class and should be represented.
Starting in the crags, some berserker-hit hard ability. no armor, no spells.

Blacksmith
Another one of the board-characters come to life (like alchemist and warlock). Start in Village. Can create and/or enhance weapons and armors.

Farmer
Many classic tales have the little farmboy solve the quest, marry the princess and become the new king. Some ability that strengthens him in the fields. Maybe starting with mule or cart, or some way to easier/cheaper get items from the stables deck.

Halfling
Classic fantasy-race. Sling-attack. +1 at tavern, might avoid enemies in hills. maybe some Hobbit-ability to avoid dragons or sneak past sentinels and other guardians.

Healer
Board character from the village. Can heal self and save followers. if healing other players: gaining fate or quest-rewards (a bit like chivalric knight). Maybe even turn the ability around, that the healer HAVE to heal another character that land on her, and gives her a gold (no fate/quest-reward gained then).

Nomad
Start in the oasis. desert-warrior. Don't lose life in desert. Start with riding horse.

Orc
Saw it has been mentioned a couple of times before. It's a must, in a fantasy-game. Some wild-fighting skills. Ability to tame or somehow use animals to increase combat-stats?

Satyr
Starts in forest. Can use panpipes to enthrall foes. Good character with psychic combat (finally). Might be a bit close to the minstrel.

Skeleton
Another evil graveyard creature. Classic "naked" Harryhausen skeleton with scimitar and round shield. Built in armor (representing it's might be harder to hurt something that don't bleed or feel pain). But special rules for healing. Wont work a doctor or healer. Spend fate to heal?

Soldier
A normal common human soldier. Chainmail, pointy helmet and spear. Start in castle or city. Start with sword and shield. May get new ones for free if lost. Some strategic combat-ability.

I'm still waiting for a few characters...

I want to see a Ninja of some sort, just because I'm pretty sure FFG will create a neat ability for it. And ninja's are cool.

I'd like to see a barbarian, just because that's a sterotypical fantasy character

I'd like to see a "true" death knight-like character. They got close with the dreadknight, but I feel like somethings off. Unlike the dreadknight I want him to be strength based and be simaler to the knight, but not TO simalar. simaler as in he can add 1 to his score when he prays at the graveyard, but different where he doesn't have starting equipment (maybe a sheild or something) and has a very different ability, maybe involving other evil characters or his followers.

I think we should get more enemy characters, like the Ogre cheiftan and minotaur. Wraiths, a skeleton...I think a golem would be awesome to. he has built in armor, but has lower life or something?

maybe a character that has armour saves wthout acutally wearing armour and if u r it will improve the armour i personally would love to see somethin like a gunsmith like weaker middle age guns highly inacurate with some way of showing it slow reload but if it hits it hits hard like +3 strength must roll a die to see it hits

Sofia Vergara... yes definitely Sofia Vergara, she's crafty!

sofia-vergara.jpg?d=1024

Wow, what a beauiful pair of **** mmmm, earings!

Ell.

The old Skaven character.

It would be great if FFG will make a Harlequin character gran_risa.gif

I'd definitely like to see more "non-human" characters like the Minotaur and the Ogre Chieftain. Something like an Undead Knight, Cyclops, Golem, etc…

I'm currently designing the following characters (subject to change):

Centaur, Cyclops, Demoness, Elemental, Gnoll Scavenger, Halfling, Lizardman, Mind Flayer, Naga, Orc Warlord, Whirling Dervish & Yeti.

I'm not sure yet when they will be finished!

Looks great so far Ell, cant wait to see the end designs

I'd like to see more female monstrous characters, like a hag or a gorgon.
