Rule Q: Order of rerolls

By DarthJalapeno, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

During an attack both the attacker and the defender are able to reroll one of their dice.

How is this executed? Does the attacker first decide if he wants to do a reroll and then the defender decides?

If so can the defender wait and see the result of the attacker's reroll before deciding if he wants to reroll a defense die?

If you watch Team Covenant video they re-rolled after the result of the Imperial player had rolled.

From what I know and can tell/read the rules simply doesn't state this yet

I could be wrong, but the game states that attacker and defender roll at the same time for the initial attack. I would say that both parties state if they want to do rerolls and then do that at the same time.

So initial roll.

Each party decides to re-roll a die

Both party now rolls the dice simultaneously.

Is it not covered under "conflicts" ?

While attacking, mission rules are resolved first, followed by effects from the attacker..., then effects from the defender.

Thx, I did vaguely remember having seen something. I'd say it makes sense to use that procedure

Also @The Blasted Sasmophlange:

The decision to reroll a die could depend on the other player's decision to reroll a die. The question is regarding the timing of the decision primary and the result secondary.

I read that part but is rerolling an effect?

A reroll is an effect granted by an ability. I would go with the rules here. Attacker first, then defender.

Step 3 under Attacking refers to rerolls as an effect. So yes, attacker then defender.

Brilliant! Those 2 references certainly seems to clear up the matter

Great! Just what I missed! Thanks a lot!
