Noble born starting income

By bjornandersen, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Something is weird with the noble born income...

They have the WEALTH talent
Effect: You begun play with double the starting number of thrones.

Meaning a noble scum starts with:

Poor quality clothing, meaning in RAGS

and starting number of thrones : (1d10 +5) x 2

Is it just me or is it something funny here, or is it meant that noble chars are gonna start playing in rags ?

Seems clear to me. They are still scum after all.

Until their first months pay anyway :P

I would assume this is the point in his life the Inquisition decided he would be of some use. Not having any choice this wastrel is picked out of the Arbitrator holding cell, Obscura den, or other unsavory location he ran out of money in and starts the battery of tests to prove his worth as a useful future acolyte. Puke stains and all.

After surviving that and proving his worth he gains access to the wealth he was so rudely (and unjustly!) cut off from when the universe turned on him.

If a player wants to play a Noble Rake (Scum) but does not want to start poor I grant him one months allowance.
Scum is next to the priest the best social career.

My noble assassin started with 2000 thrones o_O
