More Adversary Decks Please

By Gigerstreak, in Star Wars Roleplaying Specialization and Adversary Decks

I love the ease of having these at my table. As they are print on demand I am requesting that many more of these be created! There is a trove of awesome characters in the books and I would love to give FFG more of my money for such things. How about

Creatures and Mounts?

(Many new awesome ones in Stay on Target)

Weapons and Technology?

(Let the artwork shine on blasters and grenades!)

Lightsabers and Artifacts?

(Some F&D love with different kinds of lightsabers, creepy sith masks, and Ancient Holocrons?)

And don't forget new Adversaries. 20/deck is great but there are TONS of awesome characters that need card love. (Darktrooper?) And also one iconic of each class specialization would be great! Like a Wookie Marauder, a Droid Heavy, etc. There is a lot of possibility with these as Print on Demand.

Thanks for the quality FFG!

I will buy any others they put out. In addition to your suggestions, I would love decks of ships and vehicles.

After playing Imperial Assault, I can say that I would love to have cards representing the various armor and specific blasters and mods. There is something really nice about having that artwork. I would throw money at equipment cards with art and stats.

I thought the same with regards to the specialization cards, and it turns out that it doesn’t work that way for me. At least, not with the specialization cards.

The Adversary cards are quite useful for GMs, I think. And I bought one of each set that has been printed so far. And I would buy a full set of any of the fan-made Adversary card sets. But then I’m a “completionist”, and yet I still have bought only a few of the specialization card sets.

I’m still trying to figure out how to do something that would appeal to a broad audience of SWRPG players in this space. It would be interesting to see Gear, Attachments, and Mods cards and see if they sell, but I’m not convinced.

I just wish the pricing was a little better on the Spec decks. I feel like they'd really help my players out...but none of them are interested in shelling out the $7 for each one. If there was some manner of discount pricing for buying multiples, I'd really stock up, but as it stands...no thanks.

They’re print-on-demand, which means that FFG doesn’t really make much in the way of profit from them.

If you look at makeplayingcards.com, where you can submit your own designs to be printed off, you don’t get down below $7/deck unless you’re printing at least 50-100 sets, and that doesn’t include taxes, shipping, etc….

So, overall, I think these are quite reasonably priced for the cost it takes to make them.

That said, I also believe that the Specialization decks do not provide a great deal of value for the money.

IMO, the Adversary decks provide a much higher value-for-money proposition, but then primarily for GMs and not regular players.

I would buy the hell out of item decks. It would greatly speed up character creation and purchasing new equipment.

Agreed, I was dubious of the adversary decks, but they are extremely helpful, and I'm hoping for more.

How about a set of cards that represent the gun, attachments and mods?

Love the adversary decks.....

Consider this another vote for more decks....preferably with more of the standard NPCs you will run into.

Wouldn't hurt to make decks specific to the unique adversaries in the published adventures.....

It would be helpful to list the skills along with the appropriate dice from the stats. I haven't got them all memorized.

Jaime

Well, now that Force and Destiny has hit, I'm hoping we'll see at least a couple more decks for that soon.

I'd also very much like to see a deck just made up of non-sentient creatures, big and small.

Another vote for ship, vehicle and mount cards in the future - be super useful for GMing.

Item cards probably have little use for players, as what's the point of having printed stats when they can just be modded?

I would buy from all of it... most definitely. Handling them on a per-character basis is hard unless you have something that works for a character folio with pockets. Or, just put the paper sheet in the Ultra-Pro Binder... though I need to get one with a zipper so I can put the dice in there as well. It would be better with 12 on a page, but 9 does very well and would make having items, gear, etc easier to use as well. For ranked talents it makes it way easier to keep track of... IMHO...

fI'll buy any adversary decks that come out. I'm yet to buy a specialization deck and don't anticipate ever doing so.

Adversary decks I like to see:

Creatures of the Galaxy for Wildlife Encounters

A Force users deck, covering Sith, Jedi, and the force traditions in between.

Starships and/or Vehicles

I love the adversary decks, it makes converting adventures from other systems so much easier. Imperial Officer, done. Rival Smuggler, done. Bounty Hunter, done. You spend less time focusing on stat blocks.

I second this motion. More adversary cards would be ace.

Oops, replied to another post with this list, but this post seems more apropos...

Ideas for more adversary decks...

- Creatures... Spintiri ice hounds, nexu, mynocks, gundarks, dewbacks, banthas, wampas, taun-tauns, rancor, krayt dragons (youth and adult!), etc.

- Something themed for the Force & Destiny line... Force users (light and dark), inquisitors, etc.

- Droids... Battle, assassin, astromech, protocol, medical, etc.

I will eagerly grab up an additional Adversary decks.

On the topic of other deck types, where's our Force Power decks? I would LOVE those!

As a GM I find the Adversary Decks to be invaluable. I have used the 3 available for just about every game. They are ideal over using a CRB for stats, because they're clear, and I don't lose the NPC if I'm looking for a rule. While I could use note-cards but I find the organization, layout, and quality of your Adversary decks to be superb to anything I've produced at home.

I'd suggest a collection of Minion cards that allow for interesting opportunities However this is not vital.

Below are some decks I would love to have as a GM. Since EotE there has been a wealth of content that is inaccessible for GM's like me. Here are some groups that would be critical in your much needed future updates.

Age of Rebellion:

New Rebel and Imperial Deck for Special Operations (Agitator, Dark Trooper, Leadership builds, Diplomat builds, Spy builds, Specialized Minion Groups).

Force and Destiny:

Creatures (up to sil 5 or 6) (Dianoga, Gundark, Kryat Dragon, Space Slug, Mynocks, Jawa minion group, Jakobeast, Acklay, Kaaten, etc)

Galactic Oddities (Chiss Mercenary, Besalisk Adventurer, Zabrak Mechanic, Bith Musician, Gand Findsman)

Force Users (Accomplished Mechanic, Cautious Smugler, CSA Intrustion Specialist, Dandy Gambler, Fallen Apprentice, Fallen Master, Jedi in hiding, Muderous Fugitive, Scarred Gladiator, and Inquisitor Scout)

Maybe even an Inquisitor Deck .

These cards, again are invaluable in play as a GM. Thank you.
