The Scurge warlord pack

By LoudGarou, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest

Pure conjecture but I think it is due to the presence of already well-established LCG's, like Netrunner, aGoT, etc.

I initially hoped that the game would draw in the 40K tabletop enthusiasts but it doesn't look like it has.

Apart from a small dedicated community to the west, the SW LCG is also DOA.

(in my own country that is, not sure about the rest of Scandinavia)

40k was always going to be an easier sell for the UK, thanks to the far higher presence of Games Workshop here.

Ironically enough, the lack of interest from the tabletop community is one of the reasons people always mention for the failure of the past 40k/Heresy ccg incarnations.

Played my first game with the Scourge pack last night - tried out my Tau and my Guard Deck.

Bor'kan Recruits - can't say enough good things about these guys. Great for control (sure, only one command but I still managed to have a good spread with them), +2 ATK for any Warlord being present, and only 2 cost. Really good low cost unit, which is just what my deck needed. The Blacksun Filter really helped me out as well. I've teamed with Eldar for this deck so it's at a point now where I can ditch Void Pirate and Rogue Trader. Just got 2 Survivalists and then Piranha's/Filters for extra goodies.

Death from Above has also been good for me too so far - Allows me to get my Piranha's out cheaper, and I put the Soaring Falcon back in the deck so that there's more options to use with the card.

ATM leaving out Kuyron Strike, along with Homing Beacon and one Prelate, until Aun'Shi turns up next month. Also chucked in a Black Guardian or two, just to again beef up the 2-point roster. Not as good, but good health so very usable in a fight.

On the Guard side of things. Chucked in all three Mordians. Great replacement for the Psyker, which I've been looking to ditch for a while. Even better for control, cheap... sure, they don't pack much of a punch and are only 'conscripts', but another good addition.

Chucked in two Inquisitorial Fortresses. Not sure how I feel about them yet but I got a use out of one, which made a unit run away when I needed it to. Plus good fodder for Infantry Conscripts if I'm not using it.

Didn't go with any Dozer Blades... I've got AM lead with SM, which means I have more vehicle than I initially realised, but couldn't really find space for it at the mo. Might change that, but I also chucked in a couple of Fenrisian Wolves, so if they don't work out might just swap them out for two Dozers instead. See what happens.

Man, I love this game and am pumped for more cards. Despite my core deck disadvantage, I'd really love to play in a tournament soon, but I don't know when the next nearest one is here in the UK :(

Good post! :)

And you aren't the only one pumped for more cards.

"We are all ready to pump, you up, with more cards!"

"Ya!"

"You want to put another girlie Void Pirate in your deck?"

"Ya"

"Ha! We laugh at you!"
