Empire patrol destroyed @Battle of VA

This was a casual game between my brother inlaw and I. 100pts. I was Empire side.

Rebel

YT-2400 Outrider + heavy Laser Cannon giving him a 360' firing ARC

Y-Wing do not remember what else was equipped

A-Wing do not remember what else was equipped

Empire

3 Tie Fighters all low level no name pilots

Tie Interceptor Royal Guard Pilot marksmanship + hull upgrade

Carnor Jax Expert Handling + hull upgrade

Flying in 2 groups but close to each other I aimed for the YT first.

First round of combat I landed a total of 4 hits across all ships on the YT. He did not miss on a single roll for all 3 of his ships. I lost a Tie.

Second round Only got a couple of shots on the YT and dropped it shields, I did score 2 hits on the Y-wing. He did not miss with a single roll for all 3 ships. Yep 2 rounds and all hits. I lost another tie and ship damaged.

It pretty much went downhill from there. He just rolls extremely good and I roll extremely bad, if you ever play D&D with me do not count on me to hit anything :)

What was bad is that YT, with the 360' firing ARC and rolling 4 dice it was very tough. I tried to stay close but could not always. Maybe a strategy would have been to go after the Y-wing and then the a-wing before fighting the YT.

We are still learning but very frustrating at times. As I did not even kill a single ship of his.

If dice hate you, you might want to put targeting computers on the interceptors, push the limit will help ensure you can shoot with TL and a Focus, which will help alot.

Expert Handling is pretty worthless even on Carnor. 2 points to just get rid of a TL is too much to pay. PTL is just way more useful on Interceptors.

Or the real solution is to figure out what the Dice Gods want. Some serious sacrifices in real life MAY need to be made.
