Unleash the forces of nature

By wehehe, in Strategy and deck-building

Since the first ent was released, I've been thinking in making a thematic deck of "nature forces", using ents and eagles, leaded by Beorn (assisted by hobbits for lowering starting threat).

My first idea is try to use the deck solo, with Merry and Sam, (Merry because focusing in eagles needs a lot of tactics resources, and Sam is just the best hobbit hero, and leadership also gives access to Bill the Pony, another creature ally!). But I'm seriously thinking in replace Merry by Pippin and use some of the Lore draw effects.

By now just want to have a brainstorming, to get ideas to make a good deck which can handle most of the quests.

You would have to include Pippin to get access to Wandering Ent, Fast Hitch, and probably Elf Stone. Choosing the third hero would be tough. Merry makes sense for more Tactics resources. Sam would theoretically be able to help with tactics resource generation via Steward of Gondor or Tighten our Belts, but of course Beorn is immune. Maybe good harvest or song of battle would help. Even if there aren't many leadership creatures, he could still pay for neutral cards like Radagast and Treebeard. Also Sneak Attack with Gwaihir, or Ladroval if Beorn is about to die.

Here is a rough cut at a lore/tactics deck:

Hero: (3)
1x Beorn (Over Hill and Under Hill)
1x Merry (The Black Riders)
1x Pippin (The Black Riders)

Ally: (22)
3x Descendant of Thorondor (The Hills of Emyn Muil)
3x Eagles of the Misty Mountains (Return to Mirkwood)
3x Gwaihir (Trouble in Tharbad)
2x Landroval (A Journey to Rhosgobel)
2x Radagast (A Journey to Rhosgobel)
3x Vassal of the Windlord (The Dead Marshes)
3x Wandering Ent (Celebrimbor's Secret)
3x Winged Guardian (The Hunt for Gollum)

3x Booming Ent (The Antlered Crown)

3x Treebeard (The Antlered Crown)

Attachment: (6)
3x Elf-stone (The Black Riders)
3x Fast Hitch (The Dead Marshes)

Event: (16)
3x Daeron's Runes (Foundations of Stone)
2x Feint (Core Set)
2x Halfling Determination (The Black Riders)
2x Radagast's Cunning (Core Set)
2x Secret Paths (Core Set)
2x Strider's Path (The Hunt for Gollum)
3x The Eagles Are Coming! (The Hunt for Gollum)

No useful advice to give, but this deck sounds like an awesome deck idea!!

I haven't had time to build and test the deck yet. One card that will be for sure in the deck is Support of the Eagles. It makes Merry a beast attacking and/or defending.

As you said, Teamjimby, choosing the third hero is a hard though, cause each of the candidates has his good things. I'd rather play Sam cause it has 1 more WP, even at the cost of loosing Wandering ent, but if I can... I'd like to try all the builds and see which is working better. (also, if I get a reliable way to get a song of battle, playing with Sam and Pippin willl be the best)
