Y-wing repaints
My most recent Scum Y-Wing:

Those are fantastic!
Hey, these all looks the sa... Oh, lookit those tiny R2 units, crazy town. Nice work, Gadge.
Astromechs are a doddle with a 0.03 art pen in red or black!
Those are fantastic!
My friend Mark has used a similar scheme for hsi entire imperial fleet. Gunmetal and red. He's done all the ties and his decimator in brushed steel/gunmetal type 'bare metal' and used a gloss red for window panels and domes.
He calls it the 'cylon' scheme.
It actually looks really good, especially on the decimator where he's used brass/bronze for some of the exposed wiring type panels.
The only other colour he's used is black as an accent , for example around the rim and the spokes of the TIE main view point/windscreen.
Those are fantastic!
Why thank you very much!

Oh yah, my entire rebel squadron is painted the same way! I called it the Scarlet Squadron. Should check it out sometime, should just do a search and it pops up somewhere! Glad you like. I love those colors! Their mission, Search and Destroy high priority Imperial targets.
Oh and BTW, that base grey color is exactly that, it is not brushed on metallics. The only metallics on the entire model is the small gun barrels and a few minor details. Everything else that is grey is just sharply contrasted from darkest grey to lightest!
Edited by ArmondFigured it is time that I start uploading more of my work as well. Just doing my part!
Anyway this is the first X-wing repaint I did. I wanted the back to be darker than the nose but it came out way too dark! Still not bad looking, it just didn't end up like I wanted.

Second Y-wing I've repainted and about half a year after the first one and it shows! I call it the Yak-wing as it is part of a S&V squad which takes its inspiration from Japan and the Yakuza.

If only there was a LOVE button! Well done Mac!
Echoing the love of Macross's. Everybody's posted incredibly solid work so far though, wow.
I really think the Y-wing is the most detailed, most "Star Warsy" ship. Growing up I saw Star Trek as clean and sterile, while Star Wars was grimy, lived-in, and worn. The Y-wing, with it's body panels removed, is a clunky looking pile of pipes and tubes and engine parts. Practicality made it uglier than it should be, yet it retains a functional, fast, no-nonsense look.
X-wings and TIEs scream "Star Wars" (especially to the casual fan,) but Y-wings ARE Star Wars.

Its the Christmas Y-Wing! Could work for scum or the rebels!

I gotta say I really like this one, it still looks like a Y from the movies made a little meaner without taking away the true look of a Y-wing, great job.
