Hi all! Long-time collector/modder/painter, only recently started playing in the last few months, but I haven't shared any repaints mods yet because I'm lazy, and honestly there is so much terrific work here it's a little intimidating!

But I did cut apart a HWK today that I'm pretty pleased with, still need to repaint, but I wanted to post the raw mod before I put it off and while the photo is still fresh in the memory of my iDevice.

[edit]...though at that scale of 1/270th, that nose cannon is bigger than 50mm....more like 270mm or 10.63 inches. That's something you would find as the main guns of a WW2 German Battlecruiser or Pocket Battleship, not on a twin engine fighter.

Lol, I did cut it from a promotional World of Tanks figure, 35mm scale, I think? The whole front is meant to be more of a sensor array, though I do like the idea of a HWK upgrading its one-die peashooter to a giant thud-gun.

Its nice to see the HWK repaints they are looking good, i think the stock one is a bit brown lol.

Just started repainting mine, i put bluetac over certain parts like the canopy i wanted to keep and sprayed it white - im trying to make it like the Z-95s to have a Black Sun fleet

I went less Star Wars and more That One Video Game with the D***o-bat with my 2nd HWK-290.

Given that I only have one Hawk for now, its dual purpose. Ive run it once as each so far, but I think im going to make that my Scum Hawk.

I know similar paint jobs have been done before. I have touched up a few of my ships, but this is my first full repaint, so I couldn't resist posting it. *

*Also, the HWK repaint thread was getting buried, so I thought it could use a bump.

I like the weathering effects you used on the wings and tail fins. What did you use?

Pretty much a combination of mottling the paint and drybrushing. I've got some more info on it in this post.

I'll likely do more weathering when I repaint my other HWK.

The one I posted was meant to have a cleaner look for use in Rebel squads (slightly modified Moldy Crow styling right after it gets a paint job).
