so making a purchase tomarrow..need some input.

So im probably going to purchase the YT-2400. Any othe rebel wave five ships I should get with it? Probably get two of a small ship like a headhunter or E-Wing....I dont know what would be a smart buy for building a good list with the YT-2400. So what are your thoughts?

Corran and Dash are a pretty popular team. The thing with Headhunters is you need to buy multiples to use them as good filler.

It all depends on what you want to do in a game. There are no small ships in general that are specifically good with any large ship. You build to achieve a goal. Say you wanted to tank with the YT-2400. Then I recommend Y-Wings and B-Wings. If you want to zip around and be hard to hit I recommend Z-95's and A-Wings. It all comes down to what you want to do with the force you are building.

:D

What do you own already? I personally love fielding the B-Wing alongside a 2400, then filling with Headhunters. Sometimes I go Y-Wing because I like Y-Wings. Also, competitive? Fun? Casual? Thematic? What is your goal?

For rebels i own

HWK x1

A-Wings x3.

B-Wings x3

Y-Wings x3

Falcon x1

X-Wing x1 just recently gifted the othe one to my veteran friend that I game with

What am I looking for ? Im looking for a YT-2400 list thats good at dishing out Damage and decent at taking it as well.

Long term is im getting ready to part ways with alot of my rebel stuff and just gift it to my Veteran friend but im definitly keeping my Y-Wings because they are going to be converted to scum Y-Wings .A-Wings and Falcon. Im making room for Scum and Villany for my alternate faction . I just want the YT-2400 because it is a favorite of mine from the novels and comics and games. So lists with the YT-2400 and whatever small ships I run with will be the only thing im going to really play with Rebels. I know some are probably thinking are you nuts?!?! ....no not really because my rebel ships will be going to a fellow veteran friend who has PTSD and this game and the time I spend playing the game with him is kinda like therapy.....for the both of us since im a war vet myself.

Trust me the ships are going to a noble cause.

As Joe says B/Y-wings will fit your tanky requirements. I play imps more than rebels but I faced a 2400 and two b-wings recently which promptly chewed 8 of my 16 hit points on my decimator in the first round of shooting (the decimator and the rest of my squadron didn't last too much longer-resounding rebel win). We re-jigged things and the two A-wings/dash combo got wasted in the second game (so not so tanky).

How were the B-Wings loaded out during the game?

Quick! Buy all the things!

If you're looking to convert to Scum, buy a few Z-95s. They're great Rebel filler, and will be usable with Scum.

Also: Y-Wings. Same reasoning.

Um... Not definate on all load outs so don't quote me but both B-wings had HLC's. We must've been playing a 120 point game 'cos he was fielding Keyan and Ten Numb as the B-wing pilots but I've played blue/dagger pilot HLC B-wings enough times to know they're just as painfull (and do-able in a std 100pt game).

Z-95 from the Z-95 expansion will not be usable with the Scum faction. Only Z-95s from the Most Wanted expansion will be usable with the Scum faction. The models would be legal but you'd need Scum dials for them.

Obviously if you are playing at home and casual games you can do whatever the hell you want but if you are buying ships that you intend to be able to fly at tournaments you'll need the correct dials for the faction that you are flying.

That's a good/frustrating point. If you want more than 4 scum Headhunters, you'd need to buy a 3rd Most Wanted set. I mean, I assume everyone is buying at least 2 Most Wanted sets. :)

Honest real advice:

Go for rebel aces. It allows you to run 4 ships easier and makes for very good coverage for dash.

B wing with tactician is fun.

Rebel transport is another good addition. This gives you stress bot and another X. Biggs is also good from the core.

Lastly. Take a Hwk for jan or Kyle buffing.

And a Z if you have the change.

In order of choice:

Rebel aces

HWK

E

Z

Rebel transport (cuZ expensive but good)

i dont think the B-wing can equip tactician since it is a crew member ability. But I like the way you think

Rebel Aces gives you the B/E2 modification with creates a crew slot. So... yes it can equip tactician. =D

Here, proof:

Dash Rendar (36)
Push the Limit (3)
Heavy Laser Cannon (7)
Kyle Katarn (3)
Outrider (5)
Blue Squadron Pilot (22)
Tactician (2)
B-Wing/E2 (1)
Prototype Pilot (17)
Chardaan Refit (-2)
Total: 94
6 points to spare for whatever you want.

I run 2 ORS on the yt 13, 1 wild space on the 2400 and a generic z sure it's only 2 attack dice per ship but it's a lot of ship to chew away and if you fly them in formation and focus fire on one enemy ship at a time it will rip it apart

Holy crap! I was not aware of this.. now that changes everything. Interesting indeed. I'll pick up a rebel ace pack as well if they have it on the shelfs. Thanks :)

Quick question whats a popular build with Eaden Vrill?

Was thinking heavy laser cannon with the outrider title would boost hits to five dice with her pilot trait but notice it said primary weapons get the added dice boost....well heavy lase cannon is secondary so I had to scrap that idea. What is everyone else doing with Vrill?

Edited by Grave13

I don't think I'd put that many upgrades on Vrill besides a Recon Specialist. His ability will trigger often enough by itself anyway, and punish your opponent for Pushing the Limit. Other than that he is a turreted ship that shoots before Blues, Tempests and Omicrons.

If you want synergy beyond that, maybe Wes with R3-A2, or Nera with a couple of Flechettes?
