Huge Ships and multiple Ion Tokens

By Blendwerk, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Greetings,

a CR90 got three Ion Tokens in one combatphase (Ion Pulse Missile and Ion Cannon for example). And in the next round the player of the CR90 choose the 4 forward maneuver.

He get no Energy Token, but what happens to the Ion Tokens?

Will all be discarded or only one and two remain?

From the X-wing Huge Ship Rules:

Ion Tokens
Some card abilities may cause a ship to receive an ion token. Huge ships do
not suffer the standard effects of ion tokens. Instead, when a huge ship gains
energy during its “Gain Energy” step, reduce the amount of energy it gains by
one for each ion token assigned to it. Then remove all ion tokens from the
ship at the end of the Activation phase.
You would:
1. reduce the amount of energy; so he gained 0 reduce it by 3 = 0
2. remove ion tokens
basicly he suffered no bad effect because of the chosen maneuver

Which is really a logical flaw with how the energy rules were implemented.

A heavily ioned vessels will most likely go FASTER that it would have if it hadn't been ioned.

Yes but a Huge ship going fast really limits what it can do, it doesnt gain any energy and when huge ships move fast they really limit there maneuverability, its not like they can do a hard 1 or K-Turn to back into the fight
