YT-2400 repaints

By TabletopXwingPilot, in X-Wing

Duck Squadron?

Lightning Squadron?

Auric Squadron? (Goldfinger's first name in the James Bond film "Goldfinger")

They do look good in medium yellow... don't they.

:)

That means the Yt-2400 is goldilocks! bawhhha ha ha.

Painted up my squadron for the Store Championship this weekend.

Now I just need to come up with a good squad name.

I will agree. That is the best looking squad I have seen yet

The Lemon Quartet will end some Imperial pilots' day on a sour note.

Hey guys, some nice work here.

I thought if anyone knew, it might be you guys. I need to do a repair on my YT-2400. The little plastic whole on the bottom that mounts onto the peg which in turn mounts onto the ship template on my miniature is wobbly. Just took out of the box yesterday, was like that from factory.

Is there a way I could "stiffen it up" so that it mounts flush and square and is firmly seated when moved during gameplay?

Any tips would help.

Thanks in advance.

Ok, that is a beautiful squad of yellow there! Very well done! Main difference is my squad make-up is with a B-Wing instead of a Y-Wing. Although I am looking at doing one with a Y-Wing.

That seems to be a common complaint with the YT-2400 and the VT-49. Both of mine were loose as well.

I wrapped a small piece of Scotch tape around the wedge-shaped pin that fits into the socket on the ship and it seemed to tighten it up sufficiently.

I see. I just bought some super glue from the dollar store and was going to try to weld the mounting slot to the ship.

Might give the scotch tape a go first. Seems less of a commitment.

Great posts all around, despite arguably the best stock paintjob, I'm inspired to repaint my 2400 somehow. I like what I've seen done with purple..

Hey guys.

this is Demax Rebobans ship, the Nest.

I only wanted to do a subtle repaint and as Demax was originally a Necromunda character I put the yellow and black stripes on.I tried to hightlight to keep it looking scruffy and scuffed.

cheers

Edit,bugger,thought I'd imbedded that correctly

I like that Demax!

Given that I havent yet fully committed to painting yet, I decided that Sharpies would be a decent way to start, and so I did some touchups on my YT, which I am actually really happy with despite the potato quality of supplies used.

D-Day invasion stripes. Never would have thought to mix genres like that myself ... but WOW it looks good!

My repaint. Heavy use of Nuln Oil. The Cockpit is more than a pain in the a$$...

At least she's looking old...

Really like the old paintjob. What is the process to have this kind of "washed" old paint?

That is fantastic...

It is exactly what you've guessed. :)

I added multiple layers of a rust and a grey wash. I mixed it like 1 part rust wash to 4 parts grey wash. this was the base tone. After that I've added some additional layers of pure grey wash to get the recessed areas dark again.

that's it.
