Wave 6 Release Date, also Armada.

By Bipolar Potter, in X-Wing

I only got 1 of each ship for wave 5. I really wasn't interested it them too much. I prefer small base ships. It also bothers me to see two different YT ships but that's something for another thread.

Anyways, I did order up on Scum. Not really familiar with the EU ships but I like the feel of the faction overall. I think it's going to be good for the game. Rebels vs. Imperials was great... Scum is going to make it better.

Am I the only one who can wait? I mean great cards and options to come that's for sure and I'm excited, but I'm a bit preemptively nostalgic for the days when it was just Rebs vs. Imps (before you counter remember that finals table at worlds has always been Imp vs. Reb).....but more importantly I feel we just got wave 5 so soon and my wallet needs to recover

I hear that...I have 0 interest in this incoming faction and have no desire to see them on they table...that being said I've come to grips with them fact they are here and will be getting a few to keep my collection complete...but they will be my weakest faction, that is for sure.

Im just imagining that everyone will be playing them for the next few months nonstop

I'm more than ready for Wave 5 to be over. I'm disappointed in both of the ships and the direction that they are pushing the game. Hopefully something in Scum will make big expensive turrets less desirable.

I agree turrets aren't all that great but soon enough we will have Autothrusters and other things that should (hopefully) push people away from Turrets & Phantom only lists.

Wave 6 is fascinating

While I love the whole Rebs vs Imps (and it'll always be there for us), there's only so much a company can expand in that set direction. Scum doesn't have much in the way of ties to the iconic OT outside of Boba, but the faction has character and it's a nice look into the shady dealings that occurred in the background of the movies. Plus, the neat upgrades and new pilots will open up a ton of new options :D

Besides, FFG really can't release a wave worse than 5. Who decided it'd be a good idea to toss two more of those force-forsaken, maneuver-ignoring Banthas into a game who's design philosophy they completely contradict? Seriously, I hope whoever came up with the rules for turrets gets fed to a sarlacc.

Imo, there's no where to go at this point but up

Star wars has been more than imps versus rebels for almost as long as the movies have been out, one of the first books after return had the remains of both fleets teaming up to fight off an alien invasion, games like x-wing are two decades old and featured pirates.

FFG would be out of ships for rebels by wave seven if a new faction wasn't added, if it had stayed a small game then all we'd of got is OT ships but it's exploded world wide so more factions and new original ships are something we can look forward to.

Speaking as a retailer, my distribution channels are still rather murky. Our local distributor is showing that the release date as "January" with no date attached, but that pre-order cutoffs aren't until January 28th. Typically with this distributor, pre-orders are cut at least two weeks before the product actually arrives.

My other distributor isn't even going that far with the order dates. I imagine we'll have a better idea of when Wave 6 will be released by the end of January, but I'm doubtful that it will release by the end of January.

I think your report makes more sense. Wave 6 got on the boat in mid-December, which puts it on pace to arrive in stores mid-February or late February. Anything earlier than, say, Feb. 13 would be surprising.

^ February 13 is my birthday. I'd be thrilled with that. :3c

i just hope i dont have to buy 2 of something to get a second accuarcy corrector, i guess i would be ok with 2 of the IG ships though

If you buy a Starviper and IG-2000 you'll end up with two Accuracy Correctors. Though with the way the IG-2000 pilots share pilot abilities I think I'd buy two if I was going to buy one.

I look forward to the Raider and flying 4X Tie Advanced...

Need most wanted. So bad.

I need Scum Boba bad!

Just let me know when I can fly all the IG ships.

100% agreed. Wave 5 is a dud. A very dull dud.

As a primary imp player, I couldn't disagree more with wave 5. I'm loving the Deci and very thankful it is out. Now if you just hate all turrets, then your mileage may vary, for me, I'm just happy to have one finally, feels good.

While the outrider wasn't really needed for the rebels the decimator was for the imps, the falcon was a major imbalance in favour of the rebels now things are even.

I'm not a fan of turrets in a dog fighting game but I'm even less in favour of all the turrets being on one side.

Now, Hobojebus, somehow, I knew we'd see eye to eye on this.

I'd also say that Wave 5 was a disappointment. As an Imperial player, I initially really wanted the Decimator, but now that I have it, I don't really find it all that interesting.

However, I came on board just before Wave 4, and I don't have a lot of love for that wave either. I think the Phantom was a mistake, and the Defender and the E-Wing are bit contrived, pulled out of some best-forgotten corner of the EU. I like the Z-95, though.

So, neither of the waves that I saw 'splash' have been really all that great. I'm also not that eager for S&V, so, I am not anticipating them will too much fervor either.

Wow, I sound like a Debbie downer, when I really am not that sort of person.

Go Raider!?

The Decimator looks amazing (apart from the very dinky guns), but it really just feels like I'm cheating. Went back to the Firespray right quick.

HELL YEAH RAIDER :D

I feel like I just heard a redneck talking in his sleep reading this....

No offense, just a funny formulation.
