Let's start off this with a bang!

By MacrossVF1, in X-Wing

This is an older model of mine which I have already posted pictures of it. However, it does remain the most challenging paintjob I have yet completed since it's only painted with NMM techniques (Non-Metallic Metal) so I thought it deserved to be showcased again. Also, first picture posted in the new section! :)

Did you just start us off with a SCUM Ship?

The hwk and the firespray are the first i feel i need to do paints on because of scum

It was painted before we knew of any other scum but the regular rebel kind, so technically no, not a scum ship. :)

Destroy dreams much?

Here I was all happy and you put the no to it!

Dammit man it has that gold orange on it and so it is a SCUM ship in my mind... just because it is your model that don't mean you get to say what it is!

:P:lol:;)

Well it is only a technicality, you can't let a small thing like that destroy your dreams, right? I certainly know it looks very much like a S&V ship so knowing what we know now that would be what I would use it as. Of course, it has been sold so it's not my problem anymore. :P

Keep some of these toys for yourself man!

OK, so how does one drop his photos on here? I know you need to use a url for the image, but what's the best option?

I've tried putting them into dropbox, and that didn't seem to work.

Ideas please.

I upload stuff to photobucket, then it provides the appropriate IMG code for the pictures to display here.

Actually, someone who has a better understanding of HTML than I do should write a tutorial for picture posting that we might get stickied here and can go in the useful links thread.

Some of my pirates (I also started Scum in late 2013) and Tatooine.

Well, I'm neither good in building nor am I a more than low-tier painter. It's just stress relief for me!

This is probably one of the most impressive uses of NMM painting i have ever seen. your shading and blending is literally perfect and i commend you on it.

As a question, did you wet blend the NMM or did you 2 brush or layer?

When I'm doing blending, especially on NMM, i normally rely on the zenithal base-coat and just use super thin coats to get the job done for me, but i can never produce something that blends so easily as that does.

Again, my hats off. Excellent work, Truly.

This was my first attempt at a model using only NMM and it was my second attempt ever at gold NMM. I had of course painted NMM before but never to this level. As for how I did it, well I actually wrote a paint guide about it on my blog so take a look if you are interested http://alternativewargamer.blogspot.se/2014/07/hwk-290-with-non-metallic-metal-touch.html

Ironically I think that the studio pictures make the ship look a bit better than in real life.

Sorted it with Photobucket, now I've finally figured out how to post the pics of my ships. I've posted my A-wing and HWK in the current respective threads. :D

also when you go to edit the post.. they added a feature so you can add pictures.. so we don't have to always photobucket.. I use it too.. lol
