Chiraneau + Whisper
I like running RAC + Whisper too. Personally, I like Gunner on Whisper (Buzzsaw Whisper) because it potentially allows an evade and focus token while cloaked. I'm still debating whether to put VI on RAC or Determination because my meta is full of PS9 ships (Whisper, Han, Dash VI). Giving RAC PS10 will make better use of EU because you basically move last and can better get out of arc.

VI VS EU is really the big thing with this list. Really don't know which one is better tbh. Determination once removed 5 crits from me and has never removed less then one.
But with VI on RAC I would have a sure-thing phantom killer plus possibility of EU being more valuable if I come up against a high PS list.
You said that you like Gunner on Whisper, I do to with FCS but what would you remove in order to add it?

Well, Ysanne and Rebel Captive are must includes on a Decimator, imo. Determination, while a strong card, is hit or miss. There are a few options to choose from (all independent of each other):
1. Drop EU and Determination and put Gunner on Whisper.
2. Move Gunner from RAC to Whisper instead.
3. Drop EU and put FCS on Whisper (98 pts for initiative bid)
4. Replace EU with VI.
Guess I could go something like this:

There's another advantage to VI RAC, you shoot before your own whisper. I've been running a Kenkirk/Whisper list and rebel captive is a serious issue for me. Determination is so good though

This is really a very important thing. VI helps VS phantoms and it helps VS anti-phantom builds (Rebel Captive)
**** that EPT is really a hard one in this meta...
Thing is, this is really the first time a tournament is organized in my city (that I've heard of, and I'm part of the biggest miniature club in the city), Linköping, Sweden btw. Because this is the first one I don't even know if there's a meta to care about, if anyone is on forums etc. Will be very interesting to see what happens.
edit:
On a side note, this is what I would like to run...
Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
Have a small tournament coming up in a few days, thinking about playing this list:Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)Determination (1)Gunner (5)Ysanne Isard (4)Rebel Captive (3)Engine Upgrade (4)"Whisper" (32)Veteran Instincts (1)Advanced Cloaking Device (4)Total: 100Any tips on things I should think about/change?
I say go for it.
I believe an early list I made using those two had Relentless on RAC and a slightly different list of crew for the purpose of dealing out a bit of damage to other ships. I like having both ships at PS 8 for moving/shooting flexibility but you do surrender to those PS 9 ships which seem so popular.
drop 2 points so you win initiative
Is anyone playing around with Echo and Chiraneau at all?
Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
Determination (1)
Gunner (5)
Ysanne Isard (4)
Engine Upgrade (4)
"Echo" (30)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Fire Control System (2)
Rebel Captive (3)
Advanced Cloaking Device (4)
Could possibly swap Gunner and Rebel Captive around, but I think they'd be more value in having Gunner on the Decimator.

I love Echo but with a lower PS you're at a high risk of getting shot at with 2 agi. Think that's the main reason people lean towards Whisper. Echo is really fun to fly thou (=

Now you can boost at the start of combat phase, after everyone has moved, and get a free evade which may come useful
I flew Chiraneau and whisper last night in a casual and loved it.
Chiraneau- (46)
Ruthlessness (3)
Isard (4)
Gunner (5)
Hull upgrade (3)
Whisper- (32)
VI (1)
FCS (2)
ACD (4)
Had a six damage hit on wedge in the first round. Rolled three hits and a crit (was 2 damage). He rolled no evades so I destroyed wedge and used ruthlessness to put a hit on an a-wing!!
Ended up going 2W - 2L in the tournament. Was 6 players total (I came 4th by 1 pt):
- Patrol Leader + Shuttle + Firespray (RC on Patrol, Vader on Shuttle)
- Ibtisam + Jake Farrell + Corran
- Leebo + Chewie (Determination Leebo + C3P0 Chewie)
- Chiraneau + Whisper (My VI build)
- Chiraneau + Whisper (Expose + EI build)
- Han + Wild Space Fringer (HSF + Outrider HLC)
Was great fun, lots of good moments and all matches came down to 1HP showdowns to get a winner. Went with VI, and in the end it won me one game. This was against HSF when he lost his VI due to a crit and I only had 1HP left, took his 3 remaining HP with one short range shot and won the game. If he would have shot first I would have died.
If I would play a similar list again I would go for:
Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
I know that Engine on a PS 10 Large Ship is wicked, but Recon Specialist on Echo turns that slippery (PS 8) bugger into quite a survivable little ship, when in arc & against turrets it often lets you take the (ideal) single hit to avoid Gunner/Luke.
One could argue that you might as well take Whisper then, but with the heavy PS bids going on (locally that is, YMMV) I prefer that setup to Whisper and the regular Echo loadout.

Here I thought you said it was going to be a "small" tournament. It looks to me like there were only a handful of small ships in that top 6 but nine large ships with almost everyone flying at least one. I guess it can be small based on the average number of units which is less than 3.

Small was in relation to number of participants (=
So many large ships, so many turrets. But hunting that Outrider with the dounut with my EU decimator, getting in R1 every turn while Whisper stayed outside R3 was amazing!
Did you play the guy who won? It looks like he loaded up on hit points and tried to play the long game. Trying to take down 36 hit points with 2 ships is an uphill battle. Sooner or later the green dice will give out...

I did and thats what happend. 10 green dice on whisper in 2 rounds, 1 evade, that killed it. With 1HP left on the firespray and 6HP left on the Decimator
Did you ever try this one? It's what Morgan Reid was playing on the X-Wing singles event final match against Travis Foss. Batrep on the Tube on Sanctioned if you want to watch!
I find it **** excellent as a list because it essentially grants you Evade plus Expose even when blocked thanks to Ysanne and Experimental Interface. The weak spot is a stress every turn but while not blocked, you take TL and have 4-5 dice. That's not much worse than Gunner i suppose!
Oh yeah another bad thing is that you dont have EU. That hurts the list perhaps even more than the stress from EI. But hey Whisper should be the sneaky one anyway... Right?

I know about the list but I must say I trust more in EU then EI and Expose.
Might have to revisit my list again with some changes. Biggest problem I found was not having FCS on Whisper tbh, to many bad rolls could have been saved by that and most likley won me both games I lost.
Gunner only triggered once but that won me that game so it's hard
