Favorite lists to fly

By Tailsgod, in X-Wing

Personally my favorite list to fly is my E-wing Aces list

Corran Horn

  • E-Wing 35
    • Push the Limit 3
    • Advanced Sensors 3
    • Proton Torpedoes 4
    • R5-P9 3
    • Engine Upgrade 4

Etahn A'baht

  • E-Wing 32
    • Push the Limit 3
    • Advanced Sensors 3
    • Flechette Torpedoes 2
    • R2-D2 4
    • Engine Upgrade 4

Its just so much fun to fly in a weird counter formation way where both pilots fly in and out of battle using their insane dials to their advantage. I also chose to stick Etahn with R2 as I feel like it evens out the threat level between the two of them and gives Etahn a much needed boost to survivability, especially since his ability is actually really useful in the end game

I also really like my AbAb list

Jake Farrell

  • A-Wing 24
    • Push the Limit 3
    • Chardaan Refit -2
    • Wingman 2
    • A-Wing Test Pilot 0

Green Squadron Pilot

  • A-Wing 19
    • Push the Limit 3
    • Chardaan Refit -2
    • Wingman 2
    • A-Wing Test Pilot 0

2x Blue Squadron Pilot

  • B-Wing 22
    • Advanced Sensors 3

Its fun to fly two very different ships together. Upon first glance the Blues are usually considered the bigger threat, but there is something to be said about the action economy the Awing have, and as my second favorite ship on the rebels side (third overall) using the A-wings dial to really take advantage of the large board while the blue squadron does damage in the close quarters

Blackmoon Squadron

3X Blackmoon Squadron Pilot

  • E-Wing 29
    • Advanced Sensors 3 R2 Astromech 1

3 E-wings with advance sensors. While they may not be the best ship in the game, they are my favorite, and with they're dial it is foolish to say that this list isn't a headache for any opponent.

These are only three of my lists, I will probably post more later down the line (need to represent the empire after all)

but for now what's your guys' thoughts on the lists
Ideas for improvements

and also what's your favorite lists to fly and why?
I know there are a lot of posts about the best lists and the ideal lists but whats your favorite lists

edit: fixed to make it more readable

I have only just started playing this afternoon so take what I say with a grain of salt but so far I really enjoy running the following.

TIE DEFENDER: · Rexler Brath (37)

+Predator (3)

TIE FIGHTER: · Backstabber (16)

TIE FIGHTER: Academy Pilot (12)

TIE FIGHTER: Academy Pilot (12)

TIE INTERCEPTOR: Avenger Squadron Pilot (20)

I use my defender and academy pilots as my anvil and then have my interceptor + backstabber flanking

360 tank squad/B (100/100)

=========================

YT-1300: Outer Rim Smuggler (27 + 2)

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

YT-1300: Outer Rim Smuggler (27 + 2)

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

B-wing: Keyan Farlander (29 + 13)

+ Predator (3)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

+ Advanced Sensors (3)

Not a win every time but I like it. I have a lot of fun flying in with the b wing pounding hard with hlc and bringing the ors in to sweep up. Am also beginning to experiment with this 360 2400 (95/100)

=================

YT-1300: Outer Rim Smuggler (27 + 7)

+ Gunner (5)

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

YT-1300: Outer Rim Smuggler (27 + 4)

+ Mercenary Copilot (2)

+ Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

YT-2400: Wild Space Fringer (30 + 0)

Haven't flown this one yet needs some tweaking and still has 5 points to tinker with. Gonna try and figure out some way to get the hlc outrider combo on the 2400. Like I said needs some tinkering

Right now my favorite list is:

VT-49 DECIMATOR: Patrol Leader (40)

· Darth Vader (3)

VT-49 DECIMATOR: · Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)

Expose (4)

· Experimental Interface (3)

· Ysanne Isard (4)

Certainly not anything like top-tier competitive, but fun to fly and can make very quick work of some builds, so long as you can force your opponent to split his/her fire.

My all-time favorite is still an old favorite: Firespray + 2 interceptors

Current build is:

Krassis + HLC + Recon Spec

Carnor Jax + PTL

Turr Phennir

I expect this to change, of course, when Wave 6 drops. Probably Mangler on Krassis to free up a couple of points to throw on the squints.

My new favorite is something I've been working on:

Krassis + Ion Cannon + Tactician + Cluster Missiles

OGP + FCS + Gunner + Tactician + Engine

Backstabber

That leaves 5 points that I've tried on various things (currently a Proton Bomb on Krassis). Again, the Mangler is going to change this.

I have to admit, though, that Brath + Lone Wolf is something I've been pairing up with various things, and may take over as new favorite once I find the right partners for him.

Sigma Squadron Pilot x 4

dice, dice, dice-dice, dice-dice, dice, dice-dice, dice-dice

Night Beast

Winged Gundark

Backstabber

Dark Curse with Hull Upgrade.

Mauler MIthel

Howlrunner

Or

Luke with R2-D2 and squad leader and shield upgrade.

Biggs With R2.

Wedge Shield upgrade and R5-P9.

I played these against each other. It was a fun game.

Howlrunner (18)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Stealth Device (3)

Mauler Mithel (17)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Soontir Fel (27)

Push the Limit (3)

Shield Upgrade (4)

Turr Phennir (25)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Total: 100

Very fun and actually played pretty well against a Fat Han list with 2 Bs for accompaniment. Autothrusters will allow for better point distribution on the list. I'd like to put something else on Turr than VI, but with the high pilot skill craze it's hard not to use those points there. The shield upgrade on Soontir works wonders. For some reason I have an awful habit of taking a single crit with him that can really cripple his maneuverability or damage.

I have my favorite 2 list i take to tournments but the lists l love to fly the most are the ones i fly for the first time that have some trick I like to make work with cards like Expose or what was once the most disliked ship in the game the Tie Advanced. now I look to play with Bombers mixed with a Decimator. play some more with X wings with torps and so on. Becouse when you get list you fly for the first time with something that is a bit odd to work its awesome

Vader

+ Outmaneuver

+ Engine Upgrade

Echo

+VI

+ACD

+Intelligence Agent

Turr Phennir

+VI

98pts

Arc dodging is so much fun.

Obviously I can wait for the Raider.

I keep my favorite list to fly in my signature. Not sure why, I figure it is just something people can see and maybe play around with if they want. Normally the list has been play tested extensively and has had success in the current competitive meta.

I discussed my previous three favorite lists here:

http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/125181-some-thoughts-about-three-similar-stress-builds-i-have-been-testing/?hl=stressbot

About three days after that post I got crushed by a three ship list that exploited a single flaw in my strategy and I went back to the drawing board again, and by drawing board I mean a last second lineup change before a tournament for a free Wave 5 ship (which I won), producing my favorit's thus far.

#Stressbot 4.0 (100)

Luke+VI+R3-A2 (31)

Wedge+Predator (32)

Biggs (25)

Bandit (12)

I enjoy running minimal upgrades and while Wes has been replaced by Luke to free up that single important point to fit Predator on Wedge, the Stressbot+VI combo remains as the core of the list.

My favorite Imperial list happens to be three Interceptors

(100)

Soontir Fel+PTL+RGP+TC+SD (35)

Turr Phennir+PTL+RGP+TC+Shield (34)

Tetran Cowall+PTL+Shield (31)

I only own one copy of Imperial Aces which limits my ability to field all three with Stealth Device and Targeting Computer but it works for me anyway.

My favorite will always be my first list with the ship that got me into the game.

Wedge, ptl, R2 Astromech

Biggs

Anything with interceptors!

Wheeeeee! Zooooom! Boooooom!

Sadly the last one is usually my interceptors blowing up, but whatever. Still fun.

Buzzsaw

Doomshuttle w/gunner

The Baron

Just a lot of fun.

Any list with Dutch is my favorite.

This was one of the first lists that I really fell in love with.

The Almighty Dutchess + ICT +R7-T1 (BTLA4 title incoming) 31

Garven Dreis 26

Airen Cracken + VI 20

Blue Squadron Pilot 22

The action passing. Good Lord the action passing...

So I have a couple of lists that I enjoy flying and here they are:

Whisper with ACD, FSC, VI, Rebel Captive - 42pt

XXBB 100pt -

Red Squadron Pilot - 23pt

Blue Squadron Pilots with AS x2 - 50pts

Edited by MedicFett

2 x sigma w/ SPA, sensor jammer and flight instructor

Carnor w/ hull and VI

SHUTTLE w/ Vader

2 x royal guard interceptors w/PTL

Turr w/ VI

there the two im running at the mo

My favourite ships are the Interceptor, the Defender and the Lambda, so typically lists containing these. I'm pretty much the only person I know who likes Defenders, so people are typically unprepared for them. My opponent will expect me to turn to chase one of his ships, only to see me do a five straight right out of the engagement, only to K-turn the following turn and throwing four dice at them with the HLC. Even a PS1 Defender can be very tricky to keep up with.

They are expensive, though, so typically only fit in two or three ship lists. I've been running pair of Defenders with Captain Jonus and Soontir Fel, mostly, and though being 60% identical they play very differently, which also works to my favour if my opponent has played against one variety before, but not the other.

Captain Jonus

- Determination

- Munitions Failsafe

- Flechette Torpedos

Delta Squadron Pilot

- Heavy Laser Cannon

Delta Squadron Pilot

- Heavy Laser Cannon

and

Soontir Fel

- Push the Limit

- Shield Upgrade

Delta Squadron Pilot

- Ion Cannon

Delta Squadron Pilot

- Ion Cannon

I'll give Jonus another Flechette eventually, and replace Fel's Shield Upgrade with Autothrusters and Targeting Computer.

Another Defender list I've enjoyed is Chiraneau and Vessery:

Rear Admiral Chiraneau

- Determination

- Ysanne Isard

- Rebel Captive

- Weapons Engineer

Colonel Vessery

- Veteran Instincts

- Heavy Laser Cannon

I play aggressively with Chiraneau, using the 1-bank to keep Vessery at a distance. A 16 hit point monster that deals out stress and eventually starts evading and ignores 1/4 face up damage card is not a tempting target for the 2-4 ship lists I tend to face, but if they start shooting at the Defender, focussed and a range 3, I'm happy as a clam. With VI and Weapons Engineer they also work very well together. Vessery gets rerolls on every attack until Chiraneau dies, and with both at PS8, the Admiral's pseudofocus can crit away after the Colonel has deshielded the target.

Just getting into the game, and these are giving me great ideas. Thanks!

My favourite list is definitely my Alphabet Soupdron:

Garven Dries (X-Wing) - Hull upgrade

Dutch Vander (Y-Wing) - Ion Cannon Turret & R5-K6

Dagger Squadron (B-Wing) - Fire Control System

Prototype Pilot (A-Wing) - Chardaan Refit

It's got plenty of variety with each of the four main Rebel fighters, each doing a different job. The list's fairly action efficient with Dutch and Garven allowing mutual support without requiring a completely rigid formation. Certainly not super-competitive, but a slightly older version (pre-Chardaan Refit) won a local casual tournament

Most importantly though it's fun to fly :)
